I stayed in Hotel Tokyo for three nights and one night was more than enough for me. Initially, difficult to find it is located opposite Termini, disguised within Hotel Viennese. The elevator is an indicator of things to come, with shoddy appearance. The staff were rarely present and communication was a little difficult as my Italian is basic. The room... More

Just in front of the main station and bus station. If you need then book it. For the rest apart from a bed where to sleep there is nothing else even the staff doesnt exist lol so consider this. Feels like being hosted in a old lady apartment its not a hotel/hostel at all but again if its all u... More

Room was basic but clean with decent beds. One day we got a very dirty towel but in general it was fine. Located just outside the Termini station north exit and there are lots of (cheap) restaurants nearby. Wherever you are in the city,, you will Always find a bus or metro that goes to Termini

This hotel just located at a perfect location , just opposite to the Termini ( Station in Rome). And what else you want just step out from the hotel and catch a metro to reach the places. We stayed here just for one night. We were 4 people so we had 4 beds. The room was really big with proper... More

We made a reservation at Hotel Tokyo, but I should state in my review we never ended up actually sleeping there. We had a long day of travel on train from Venice and when we arrived in Rome we followed the instructions of our confirmation email from Hotels.com to the Hotel. We rang the bell over and over again and... More

I travelled as a Solo traveller on his first visit to Italy. First, when I first arrived at the hotel I was immediately made to feel very welcome. Check in was easy and I was shown to my room (right by reception). With free wifi available that worked fine for the purposes I needed it for. (I was only using... More

Located right opposite Rome railway terminal the hotel is well situated for all Rome has to offer. The hotel entrance is a rather grubby affair with the hotel actually located on the 4th floor. The entrance way from the street is only to access the lift as the hotel reception is on the 4th floor. The room we were allocated... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
