This was a convent and is still run by the Carmelite Sisters and seems to operate as a B&B. My single room, sparsely furnished was perfectly adequate and spotless. There was 24 hour door service so I was free to come and go. The house was beautifully silent during the night and plenty of hot water in the morning. Coffee...

The adjoining bathroom had an over-bath shower with no screen or curtain but not a problem if...

We went to Mass with the sisters every morning that we could and it was a beautiful Mass. The hotel was not in the middle of tourist attractions and that is what we wanted. We caught...

I found Suore Carmelitane - Villa Montemario's website by accident whilst trying to search for a suggested Religious Institution mentioned on a tv program titled Europe on a Budget. As soon as I saw it I thought yep, that's where I want to stay. I then tried to research the hotel but was unable to find any reviews on it...
