I stayed here for 3 nights and was warmly greeted but the host. The place was a bit hard to find but once you look for the name on the buzzer it's fine. It is a converted apartment into a hostel with a small kitchen, but the advantage it that the hosts serve you fresh authentic Italian pastries in the...

I stayed here for 2 days and was surprised at how much I disliked it. There is no sign outside of the hostel unless you go up to the correct building and read the buzzer, but what irritated me the most was the 3 hours in which you couldn't be in the hostel. Everyday, between 11am-3pm you have to leave...

I arrived there and there was no sign. It is just an apartment. The manager, who was really rude, didn't let me stay before check in time because there is no common areas there. I left to a better hostel.

I travelled to Rome with my friend and we stayed for three nights. When we arrived at the address for Wow Colosseum we thought we were in the wrong place as there was no large sign like you'd expect for a hostel. Luckily enough a man from the restaurant at the corner buzzed us into the apartment building in which...

Hosts were extremely unpleasant, abusive and threatening. Common room was small and taken up by two hosts themselves so we were forced to stay in bed or go out. On the main door there is a sign that says that if you steal something you will have your arms and legs broken. I could mention many other things but that...

The hostel is really close to the historical centre - 10 minutes from underground Termini. Behind the corner is restaurant, supermarket and in the same street is kind of music bar (I havent been there, I just saw it). Rooms are clean and comfortable. The owner is really nice and she helps you with everything what you ask for. What...

I arrived at this hostel a little before 8pm and my reservation had not gone through. The owners were very accommodating and put me up in another room across the street for the first night for the same price since they were booked up. The hostel is exactly where the directions say but it is more an apartment on the...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
