In an area which does not have the best reputation, this small cosy B&B does it really well with relatively cheap prices a friendly staff and proper surroundings. It is only a 5 minute walk to the Monti area, which have a lot of decent restaurants.

I stayed one night, alone. Only good things to say. The owners were very helpful and nice, the location was great and the room was cute and clean. I felt very safe, even alone as a woman. The owner gave me his business card, in the case I need help with anything during my stay. Comfy beds and a good...

The entrance/’lobby’ looks very dirty and worn. However, the rooms are nice. Basic with IKEA furniture, but very clean. Staff is very friendly. Excellent budget option if you are staying for 1-2 nights and just need somewhere to sleep. Drawback - air-conditioning unit is very noisy and breakfast must be eaten in the room (or on a small bar in...

Considering the strength of the reviews this B&B has I was very disappointed in what we experienced. Firstly, as expected being so close to the station, the area felt unsafe (having travelled solo in Southern Africa and experienced some genuinely unsafe places I did feel unsafe in the immediate surroundings here). When we checked in we were made to feel...

Like everyone else has said, this is a great location for being close to Termini- literally a 3 minute walk down a street. The area is fine- I know some have mentioned that the area is sketchy, but there are restaurants along the way, so it's well-lit and populated until the last street. Other than that, the hostel is clean,...

This hostel is within 5 minutes walking distance from the main train station Rome Termini. It was very convenient as there are so many means of transport nearby. The only downside is the place (around Rome Termini) seems a bit insecure especially at night. However, throughout my 3 nights stay, everything was all good, so it should be alright as...

The accommodation is located in the center, very close to the train station. So, it was quite convenience for our group to travel into all attractive places in Rome. The officer was nice and helpful. The breakfast was great and enough. The wifi was OK. The only thing was the room was so small for 4 people. However, in overall...

Great hostel for the money. Shower was powerful but did not have a hook to hold it up so useless. One of the more rough parts of rome but we had to issues and we felt fairly safe here. A lot safer than naples anyway!

Fully enjoyed our 5-night stay at this place! We booked a private double room and we were given the one for 3 people. Everything was wonderful: it was clean, comfortable bed, very friendly and helpful staff and the great thing was they give you breakfast in bed every day! Just lovely. Breakfast consisted of coffee, juice, yogurt, croissants, bread with...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
