I stayed here for one night between my trip from Perugia to Napoli. This was a monastery and residence of princes. However, the only good thing about this hotel is the view of the old town. The arquitecture is very pretty but the facilities of the hotel are old. When we arrived, the receptionist/ concierge told my husband that the... More

The location, in the hills, overlooking Tivoli was perfect. It is not far from the madding crowd and therefore very quiet, surrounded in a pastoral splendor. On one afternoon, as we were driving down the long driveway, three wild pigs/boars, raced nearby in the verdant field and as we slowed they darted across the road and over the hill out... More

Before booking this hotel I read through the reviews as usual and saw many complaints but decided to risk it since it's the only hotel I could find in the area that had such history and was closest to "a boutique hotel". We were pleasantly surprised to find a 16th century castle with a rather well kept classic decor (for... More

It is a pity as the hotel has a great location with a stunning view but there is definitively need of refurbishment or at least better maintenance. From the outside the hotel appeared as a real five star place. Unfortunately, the rooms bring you back to reality. The mattress had definitely seen better times years ago, lamp shades close to... Although the Hotel has great views the facilities available to us were spectacularly shocking - culminating in our last night there (of 2 ) being told NO we couldn't have dinner that night and NO we couldn't have a drink from the bar !!! Only one person on duty it seemed and next morning the same at a very poor... More

We booked this hotel because there are few listed in the Michelin Italian guide and we only needed one night after visiting Villa Hadrian and Villa D'Este. Finding it was difficult, but that is not the hotel's fault. It is high on a hill overlooking all of Tivoli and has a beautiful view. That is where the beauty ends. The... More

It's a lovely old building high in the hills overlooking Tivoli with a spectacular view of the Temple of Vesta. The public areas are perfectly maintained and neat as a pin. We had a suite with a private terrace overlooking the pool, from where we could hear the bells chiming in the town below. The staff are very helpful and... More

This is supposed to be a 4 star Hotel but our room has no heating and it's quite cold today. Told by reception that it is unusually cold forthis time of year. Reception area is heated though. Also free wifi is only available in lounge area as walls are too thick. They say easy walking distance to Tivoli Gardens. Well... More

When you plan a trip to Tivoli or Rome and have an own car to move around I can recommend this hotel, especially the small suite (still 40-50 m2) with its huge terrace and its absolute great panorama. Having our windows open all night and wakening up with a direct view on Tivoli is one of the memorable moments together... More

Up a mountain, driving on a single track road, the hotel may be isolated but the room was fabulous and huge and the restaurant food was fantastic. The view was amazing. Local Italians eat there. We only stayed overnight but I would not have missed it for the world. The wifi only worked in reception which was a nuisance. The... More

“If you are more than 2 people in a room you will need to get a triple room which will give you ample space. There is an elevator which is very small . I was unaware of any other one . If you are claustrophobic at all you may want to enquire if there is a second elevator or use the excellent wide staircase.”
