Usual Novotel standards (room size, facilities, lobby, restaurant etc.) apart from breakfast which was "basic" due to Covid-19 etc. as they told us.
Safe, closed parking (15euros) very convenient to leave the car and walk to the city centre (10 mins walk more or less).
Staff as always polite and helpful.
The hotel and the rooms were very clean and we never feared for our health's safety during our stay.

We had to break our Italian Road Trip somewhere for the night and Parma seemed a good option. The Novotel is practically located close to the city center in a few walking minutes and had a parking. I had read that people had had issues locating said parking, but in fact the entrance is literally right as you come up to the hotel, small ally leading to the right. It is a bit on the tight side, but totally manageable.
Check-in was very friendly and quick.
We had booked a junior suite which was like a living room type room and a separate bedroom. It was spacious, enough place to open both suitcases. We do like hotels that don’t have those pesky carpets and instead opted for wood or in this case probably linoleum in wood look. I just feel it is more hygienic.
The bedroom was quite decently sized, with the adjacent good sized bathroom. Both rooms had huge TVs and my ever so important USB plugs to charge, plus a normal European plug. I think these things are important especially to overseas travelers, who then don’t need the often bulky adapter. The bed deserves special mention as it was super comfortable. Slept very well. And despite overlooking the busy road it was really calm.
Breakfast was functional. They had opted for semi-buffet to avoid too many people touching utensils (due to the still ongoing pandemic) so any charcuterie, cheese and bread and hot items, were at a counter where you were being served. I think the menu was adapted to the style of hotel. It was clearly suited for business travelers, with charging points at nearly all tables.
Check-out was super friendly. All in all a practical option in Parma.

Arriving from Mantova and Sabbioneta, the hotel was easy to find and we parked the car at their parking inside the property with direct access to the lobby. Nice when you have a lot of heavy luggage. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. We request a different room than the one we were given and got it without any problem. Very comfortable beds.
All along our 4 day stay the staff was always smiling and helpful. They recommended a very good restaurant for the night of my wife birthday. The breakfast was copious and served according to the Covid rules. The room was very well equipped and clean. The restaurant was closed because of Covid.
The location is great and we could visit Parma without using our car.
We highly recommend this hotel which also has good meeting facilities.

Me and the family stayed for 1 night in July (booking 2 interconnecting rooms).
The hotel is very moden and in a great location, 10 minutes walk to the centre, yet easy to get to from the Motorway.
Staff were friendly, the rooms were modern and great value and the breakfast was also nice. Due to Covid, the breakast was brought to us rather than a buffet but they brought us all that we needed.
Would recomend this hotel if visiting Parma.

This was a great place to stay, Super close to the train station walking distance to great restaurants. Hotel staff so friendly very helpful spoke English very well. Pascual at the bar also works the restaurant, also does room service he was amazing he is learning English but always helpful helpful. I read many comments about the air conditioning….. if you’re coming to Italy in the summer it’s gonna be hot no matter where you go. The air conditioner work for our room it wasn’t ice cold but it was nice and cool. do you want something positive though… The shower was amazing water pressure, nice and hot.
Our room/suite was in the front ….no noise at all from the street, they had two sets of windows to block out the sound… So quiet we had to turn our sound machine on to sleep… I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Spend the $14 euros on breakfast the cappuccino machine is great staff is very friendly and the breakfast is filling.

I only have praises for this hotel. We stayed 3 nights here recently. They asked us our green pass or your vaccination card upon checking in.

Room was very spacious and it is modern. They have a very dim light in the bathroom to guide you at night. Coffee and tea sachets were available and an electric water keetle. They have a small refrigerator. The elevator is more spacious than the next 2 hotels we stayed. For breakfast, you will definitely look forward to it. They have lots of choices and I like their bread. Lots of cakes and different kinds of croissants. A staff picks up the food you like which is a very good measure to prevent getting covid. The personnel were very friendly.

In terms of location, it is a short walk from the train station. It is also not so far to go to the centrum of Parma. We did not use any public transportation during our 3 days in Parma. It was fun to walk around.

On top of that, it is a short walk from Parma train station. Less than 5 minutes. There is an elevator in their train station which is a plus for us who are travelling with luggages.

We picked this hotel because it was reasonably priced and was a 10-minute walk into the historic center of Parma. The hotel could use some updating; however, it was clean, the bathroom was modern. Overall, a very good value!

Visited hotel with husband and child. Hotel presented well on check-in and we had our car. The garage is safe and feels secure.

The hotel is nice. I like that they use Rituals products in the bathroom. The beds are comfortable. My only caveat with that is that as we were traveling with our child and his bed wasn’t made the first night and we had to request all of his sheets and blanket and pillow for his bed even thought we had been clear about needing a bed for him. It was a futon so they didn’t provide the bed cover or the bed pad so that he didn’t fall between the two bed halves. On our second night the housekeeper brought the necessary items so his bed was corrected, but this oversight shouldn’t have occurred.

We ate at the restaurant on our last night. The dinner was just okay, but both my husband and son really enjoyed their dessert. One got the tiramisu and the other got the crème gelato. We sampled some of the bar items as well, from pizza to cappuccino and everyone was happy.

Also, the pool is very well maintained and it’s nice that they employ a lifeguard that can help with safety, towels, and umbrellas. It’s a very nice oasis in the city.

In the evening the hotel pays to have security in the hotel in order to ensure only guests of the hotel gain admittance. As some others have mentioned, the hotel isn’t directly in the center, but a bit outside (5-8 minute walk). We never felt unsafe and no one bothered us ever.

All in all, if they maintain their quality both in staff and product the hotel will be the finest hotel for all amenities in Parma.

We just spent one night there on our way home from southern Italy. It is easy to be reached from the highway, at walking distance from the city center. The beds are very comfortable, the rooms extremely quiet. No steps from above, doors, toilet flushes, street noise to be heard. I rarely slept so well in a hotel in my life!
The staff was very friendly, good-humoured and motivated.
We did not try the restaurant. However breakfast was very good. The selection if cheeses and meet could be a bit better.
The parking is very narrow, even for my medium sized car. At 7 pm we got one of the last parking lots! 18 € is pretty expensive for that. It was actually the parking why I had booked this particular hotel.

The hotel is located in a great location , but the air conditioner is really weak, not a great thing during august. Regardless of the setting, the same weak air came out. Would not advise staying here when it’s more than warm out. The worst part is the “Lobby “ isn’t really a lobby , they removed us because we didn’t buy anything from the bar. We tried to sit, but they sent us off to our room unless we bought something from the bar.

Location is good if you’re using the train to arrive or depart, it’s about at minutes to the tourist area.

Response from Novotel PARMA CENTRO, General Manager at Novotel Parma Centro
Responded 11 Oct 2022
Dear Guest, First of all I thank you for taking the time to share the experience following you stay in Novotel Parma Centro. I am deeply sorry that the standards of service fell short of your expectations and I ask you to accept my most sincere apologies. Let me apologize for the unpleasant situation you had to face about the air-conditioning and the consequential inconvenience you were caused. Due to the extremely hot external temperature during August, we had some problems to schedule the right time slot of the air-conditioning emission. The common area is an open space in order to welcome guest for having a drink in our Bellavista bar either to sit and chat with a friend. We are ready to welcoming you again upon your next stay, trying then to regain your confidence. Your sincerely, Cristiana CRIPPA General Manager Novotel Parma Centro
