What a great little hotel. It is about a 10 to 15 minute walk to the historic district of Parma and a €6 taxi ride from the train station.
We stayed for 4 days and 3 nights and the only complaint that I have is that the rooms were a touch warm.
The beds were great, they offer extra pillows. The bathrooms were all very modern and a good size. The shower was hot and had great pressure (sometimes that is hit of miss in Italy)
All and all a great hotel. If you stay here you also need to eat in the restaurant "Cocchi". Its a wonderful hidden Gem but, make sure you make reservations, it fills up every night.

We spend a night at the hotel. The staff is very friendly. Cleanliness is ok for a three star hotel. Even though it is located in Parma downtown, the rooms were quite quiet. See my other review for the extraordinary restaurant located in the same building.

We stayed at the Hotel Daniel based on a combination of reviews and price. It seemed for every one thing this hotel does right, it does another thing wrong. It is listed as non smoking, but management seems to be very tolerant of rule breakers as evidence by the cigarette butts on our window sill and the smoke smell in the hallways. The rooms are beautiful, but small, completely as expected in a city. It is a long walk to centro, but it is on a main road, so using the buses is easy. We did not have a car and made the mistake of walking back to the hotel after dinner one night. It was just a little bit too far. There is not much in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. The hotel staff tried to be accommodating and they were very polite, but when we complained that our air conditioning didn't they told us that it was because we didn't tun it on. They went to our room and 'turned it on' but as we said it didn't work. We explained it in both English and Italian, but had to sleep with the windows open since they kept saying it was our fault and we did something wrong. They let us leave our luggage at the hotel after we checked out and went to a meeting. When we came back our luggage was still sitting in the lobby unattended. I guess no one worries about theft in this neighborhood!

Although this hotel is walking distance from the centre, has ok rooms and is quiet at night, I would advise avoiding this hotel for the lack of simple manners/kindness by reception and management staff. A real let down in a country of such wonderful welcome and kindness.

On arrival our passports and car keys were taken with no explanation. Only after asking for passports back a few hours later were they returned with some mumbles about a terrorism law. It felt weird to give personal documentation over to a stranger for so long with no reasoning.

Car keys were taken and kept for our whole stay and our car moved from one hotel bay to another with no request or reasoning.

It took quite a bit of asking to get any advice or directions let alone a smile or a ‘Biongorno.’ When asking about making a reservation in the restaurant we were told not to bother as it is full. We were misdirected to another restaurant 2 minutes from the hotel.

Although we struggled in with luggage, kids etc. after a fairly long drive there were no offers of help or assistance. In fact everyone just looked the other way.

This hotel has the worst and most unfriendly customer service we’ve ever encountered. Perhaps they believe their own press about their rather snobby on site restaurant and the ‘boiled meats’ they show off about. Forget boiled meats and say hello!

However, the antithesis is La Brace restaurant just around the corner which is wonderful, warm, genuinely Italian. As is Parma - lovely city and welcoming people.

Just find somewhere else to stay as the management here seem to think you owe them a favour for staying there.

Very untypical of Italy.

We stayed for one night. 100 euros for double bed. Excellent in all aspects. Very clean comfortable room. Great bathroom. Great hospitality. Had dinner in their restaurant, probably the best eats in Parma.

The Hotel Daniel was recommended as I couldn't get into a b&b in the very center of town (all full due to trade show). It turned out to be a decent hotel for a fairly good price. We were travelling with our 2 small children so needed a room for 4. Our room wasn't really big enough for 4, but would've been fine for a family of 3. The fold-out twin bed came down from the wall horizontally which didn't take up too much room. Unfortunately once the baby cot was set up there really wasn't much room left to move around. Traveling with very small children we don't have much choice but to all be in the same room...a suite type solution would've been better. Don't think they have those- or at least it wasn't offered to us.
The service was good. We only had breakfast there as the restaurant attached to the hotel (which gets good reviews) was closed on Saturday nights - quite strange for a restaurant! We were sad to find this out as it would've been very convenient with small children. Breakfast was buffet style, some fresh cakes, fruit, yogurt, ham. Coffee was decent.
The hotel is not too far from the city center and the hustle and bustle. Easy parking and easy to get into the center big parking garage- about a 5 minute drive. I would recommend it. Just make sure you know where you are going to eat if you get there late at night or at mealtime- there doesn't seem to be much within walking distance of the hotel.

I recommend this hotel because of its service, which I thought was very good. The rooms are only satisfactory, they are a bit lived in, but definitely acceptable. The hotel is located a little outside the center of town, about a 15-20 min. walk or a quick bus ride away. For the price range, I would recommend it.

I booked this hotel as we were staying only one night and eating at Cocchi {restaurant attached to hotel). Reviews had been good but not great, so we were pleasantly surprised. The 4th floor room was spacious enough with a good wardrobe, and had all the latest amenities. The bathroom was also a good size with a large shower and lots of sundries. Everything was spotless. The large bed was extremely comfortable, the linens and towels all good quality. The staff were welcoming and ensured we had parking on their property. Check-in and check-out were simple. We easily walked to the historic part of Parma through the Ducale Park. Very good value.

I was not sure which rating to give. One strange thing happened on our 2nd morning at breakfast; my mom and I wanted to sit at a corner table, moved an empty chair there and the lady serving the breakfast started shouting at me very angrily. I think I was not shouted at like that ... ever. What a strange way to treat guests.
Well, my mom told me I should not be so sensitive and the lady may have been tired.
Otherwise, the hotel was wonderful:
Good rooms: very clean, comfy beds, we had good quality of sleep. Strong wi-fi and good showers.
Location: not directly in the center but walking distance (20 min though a lovely park).
Reception was friendly and helpful.
Restaurant on site is amazing; the breakfasts were very tasty and we had lunch there as well which was just the best. Book table in advance!
Overall - very good place to stay but beware of the older lady in breakfast room :).

Easy to find hotel only and only a 20 minute walk into the centre of Parma. Good welcome and room was decent. Parking by the side of the hotel. It was extremely hot when we arrived but managed the walk into town easily. Contrary to other people's views, it is not a long walk. Unfortunately the restaurant attached to the hotel was booked, but is highly recommended, if you don't want to go into town book a table in advance. Thoroughly enjoyable stay.
