Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hotel is right in the center of Parma (I think it's right next to the city hall), about 15 minute walk from the train station. Quiet at night.

Buffet breakfast is an optional add-on, which I didn't use as I am used to having light breakfasts

Hotel Button is a very good mid range hotel in the very centre of Parma. The lobby was lovely decorated for the Christmas period. The breakfast in this hotel was the best Italian breakfast of our trip throughout the whole week. Will definitely recommend.

Atmospheric hotel, ideal central location just off the main Square yet rooms nice and quiet at night.
Bedrooms very cean and fresh, serviced daily. Reception and restaurant staff competent and friendly. We were assisted with all of our queries - restaurant recommendations, transport etc.
Would highly recommend this property for a tour group.

We stayed one night having tried this hotel in August this year. Our stay this time was a shorter one, just a night break on our way back to Northern Europe. The family room was large enough for all of us, clean and quiet, on a busy Saturday night in Parma.

The location and the service are really good. Good value !

Hotel is conveniently located close to many Parma attractions. Closest parking is 8 mins away walking. Hotel room and bed were comfortable, although I would have liked a second pillow. Breakfast was varied and fulfilling. Very communicative staff. Recommend this hotel!

My wife and I were traveling through Italy and had not planned on stopping in Parma. We decided it would be a good stopping place for a night and when we got to the Hotel we decided to extend our stay both because of the town and Hotel. The service was great, the hotel was located right in the middle of town and we had a wonderful time there.

I've stayed here many times. I love this place. It's just a really charming little hotel with spacious rooms and great staff at ground zero Parma. If you plan to check out Parma and see the sights, museums, and get to know the people, this is the place to stay. The staff does not give you the ultra smiles and the phony bows but they DO go out of their way to make the stay work for you. A really great European hotel run by great people. Some aprts of the hotel/rooms are a bit run down but nothing horrible. I alwyas come back to the Hotel Button! I can sleep undisturbed, read books, take breakfast, go walk the lovely museums and eat the incredible food. This is a great place. But then Parma is my favorite Italian city of ALL! It has the best of art, music, food, shopping and WONDERFUL local people WITHOUT all the noise, smog, reconstruction, delays and hassles of other Italian cities. I think all of this though depends on who you are. If you're Maggie Smith or Zora Travelgurl you will love your stay at the Button. If you're some phony snob looking for yet another cookie cutter sparkling clean Holiday Inn upgrade kind of experience or a $455 per night phony St. Germain des Pres experience, this is not for you. Come to Parma! You will love it here at the Button.

Just back from two nights at the Button. Being from Manhattan, we have a high tolerance for noise, but this place was terribly loud. We stayed in Room 114, which has a nice little balcony. Unfortunately, it is doors away from an incredibly loud bar. The streets are old and narrow so the noise bounced right into our room all night long. True, the thump-thump of the music ended around midnight, but the people smoking outside were laughing and talking really loudly well past 2 am. Luckily, we had earplugs with us, but even they didn't drown out the noise. AND we had the windows closed. When we mentioned this to the guy at the front desk, he acknowledged that it is loud and assured us that none of the other rooms were any better. I don't know if that indeed is true, but it is worth noting.
This hotel is just OK at best. I don't for the life of me understand why people give it such a high rating. There is absolutely no decor in the rooms...my husband equated it to a Howard Johnson's off the highway. The bathroom was fairly large by European standards. I don't know what people are talking about when they comment on the friendliness of the place. One of the guys at the front desk was nice and helpful, one was OK, and one acted like he was doing us a big favor by talking with us. As for the "great" buffet, ok, it was more than the typical ham and cheese that you get in Italian hotels, and the chocolate granola was very tasty, but you could do better getting a cheap pannini at a cafe.
