This quite a modern hotel described as five star but which in my opinion does not reach that standard. Front of house staff were great, happy to help with any thing we asked about. Bedrooms were a reasonable size and the bed was comfortable. However, there was no drinking glass in the room and cardboard cups were provided instead. Our biggest concern was the step into the bath shower (no non slip mat provided) which we felt was somewhat dangerous for older folk as witnessed by the bruise on my wife's thigh. Breakfast was adequate and we did not use the restaurant for any other meals. The hotel is about a kilometre from the main historic sights along the main street.

This hotel does not qualify for 5 stars in any way.
Standard rooms are small and not more comfortable and inviting than any other 3/4 stars hotels.
Service was generally nice but the front desk staff was very cold and not very helpful.
Besides you could spot quite some defaults, eg. Stains on carpets in corridors...
Location is great but if you want to be on the safe side, opt for a chain hotel in town... which is usually what I normally don’t prioritize!

The hotel is fabulous, the staff attentive and friendly, the food impressive and the facilities fab. The air conditioning is only on during the summer months, but as the windows open, that was fine for a perimenopausal woman! Their non alcoholic drinks were delightful and Andre the bar man even created his first Espresso Martini for me. The transfer driver we booked to the airport (Christine) was a joy too. The hotel is on the edge of a Galleria, but out of site, so handy for the supermarket or if you want to eat offsite. As a vegetarian who doesn't drink milk I found the breakfast to be fine, in fact I ate something different on the 3 mornings.

As someone who has frequented luxury accommodations like Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco, I expected a certain level of service and quality when booking a stay at the Grand Hotel De la Ville Parma. Unfortunately, my experience was anything but satisfactory.

From the moment my family and I arrived, we were met with rudeness and indifference from the front desk staff. Their dismissive attitude made us feel unwelcome, a stark contrast to the warm hospitality we're accustomed to, even in smaller establishments.

The issues didn't end there. The rooms were not only cramped but also poorly maintained. Despite our repeated attempts to adjust the temperature, we were met with frustration and false promises from the staff. It was clear that the hotel's amenities and infrastructure were severely outdated.

Adding insult to injury, the lack of basic amenities further exacerbated our disappointment. A simple request for a wine opener turned into a baffling ordeal, with the staff displaying a complete lack of professionalism and hospitality. The exorbitant charge quoted for such a basic service was nothing short of insulting.

In contrast to my extensive travels and stays at various hotels, including reputable chains in small towns across the US, the Grand Hotel De la Ville Parma fell far short of even the most basic standards. The absence of glassware, a functional mini-fridge, or a coffee machine in the room only compounded our frustration.

To sum up, my experience at the Grand Hotel De la Ville Parma was nothing short of a nightmare. From the indifferent staff to the lackluster amenities, it's evident that this establishment falls far below the standards of a purported 5-star hotel. I regret ever stepping foot in this establishment and would caution anyone seeking luxury accommodations to look elsewhere.

had the room 337, and Stefania did a great welcoming, showing the good restaurants nearby and more.

+:
free breakfast, free parking underneath the hotel, quiet location on a pedestrial place, and close to supermarket a cinema and shops.
at about 1km from the cathedral.
There are 2x 22kw electrical charger right in front of the hotel, and a bigger one is being installed :-)

-:
bathroom a little small
at about 1km from the cathedral :-)

This is a relatively modern business hotel on the fringes of the city. Everything about the hotel was fine, but one comes away wondering where the 5th star was. A 4-Star rating would be more appropriate, considering the fittings and amenities. We chose this hotel for its convenient location and the fact that it has an on-site garage. The standard room was sufficiently spacious and the bath room equipped with a walk-in shower. No view of the historic town out of the window, but that is of minor importance when only returning there to sleep. Breakfast is nothing notable, except that one can sit outside on a pleasant veranda. What is notable, on the other hand, is the cleanliness as well as the friendly and helpful reception and service.

I travelled to Italy with work, staying at the hotel for two nights. Located in the town centre located next to a car park. An easy walk to into the rest of the town to explore. Reception were very pleasant and check in was smooth.

I had a room on top floor overlooking the carpark. Not the best of views but that didn't matter as I was only using the room to sleep in. The room itself was of a decent size, however it was bland and very grey, with more grey on top. It was if it was trying to have an industrial edge to it. Not a style that I found appealing. It was clean, well laid out and warm. Bed was comfortable and bathroom had a decent shower.

Bar is pleasant with decent selection of drinks.

I only ate at the hotel for breakfast which was a continental buffet style. Nice enough and worked for me.

Check out was straightforward, again pleasant staff.

It did what I needed and a good price too.

My visit at the Grand Hotel de la Ville was wonderful. I slept very well. The room was clean and quiet. Breakfast at the hotel was excellent. The staff were top notch. I wish every hotel I stayed at was as fine as this one. This was my first time in Parma, and I don't know if I will be back. But if I return, this is the hotel I would want to stay at.

just come back from Parma to the Grand Hotel de la ville with my family / 2 kids. good hotel. modern at least a real 5 stars in Italy. restaurant good and good price, staff helpful. We managed to pay the room euros200, I made the deal directly by phone and we had a double room with a big sofa beds enough for the kids. just the cleaning :was not really perfect and they counted a pay TV and fruit juice that we hadn't take. There is no wiew but it's close to the center. Don't expect to visit a factory, you need to book directly with them and they are closed on the WE. Don't miss to taste "the Culatello" delicious ham.
