This was my musband's and my fifth trip to the Cinque Terre and the first time we stayed in Riomaggiore. We usually stay in Monterosso, but since our usual hotels were all booked, we decided to take a chance on Locanda del Sole after reading the reviews. We were not expecting much, and were therefore not surprised and got exactly...

Enrico has a hidden gem!! Rooms are clean, bright and roomy. Had a beautiful veranda overlooking the town. Breakfast was great and the best cappucino in town!!!

This is a great place to explore the cinque terre. Rio & Manarola were our favourite towns of the 5, they are more of what we expected the cinque terre to be. Manarola's got a great pub on the RHS of the main street as you head towards the water, playing Jazz music & just a great vibe for some...

We loved the Cinque Terre and could easily have stayed a week instead of three nights. The Locanda del Sole was a great place to enjoy the area from. All the towns are lovely but Riomaggiore is one of the better serviced by train, and being so close to Manarola as well (30 minutes walk from the centre of Manarola...

Enrica the land lord was a wealth of information and VERY hospitable. We did share the odd bottle of wine together. He also puts on a very good breakfast compared to all the other places we stayed in the 3 weeks in Italy. The hotel has a number of levels, so there are stairs. The rooms are a good size...

Cinque Terre is a must see! Cinque Terre is five little towns next to one another. The little towns each have their own personality. Each town is pedestrian only. Riomaggiore is the first one you come upon. We arrived in Riomaggiore around 8pm and were able to get a room at Locanda del Sole. The B & B has its...

This is the second stay in this property, although this time with a new manager. Arriving at this place has been made easier from the train station with the building of an elevator which takes one part way up the town! The location is great with peek-a-boo views of the water and a true sense of what living in a...

We arrived at the hotel at about 12:30pm, and were keen to sample the delights of Cinque Terre's renowned seafood. This plan was delayed however, after climbing the near vertical road to get to the hotel with two large bags (it would have been helpful if they had told us about the green shuttle bus that runs from in front...

Riomagiorre is a great place to stay, especially for couples and younger people - it's definitely less family oreinted than the other villages in the cinque terre. Perhaps not as pretty as Vernazza, we were very happy with the restaurants on offer and loved watching sunset from the bar on the hill above the train station - all a bit...

We stayed there for 2 nights. It is very convenient located. It is about 5 minute up-hill walking from train station. And the trail head to Cinque Terre National Park is a little above the train station. Bus can also take you there. However, the bus service stops after 7:30pm last run. There is also an elevator that can take...
