We just spent 6 nights and enjoyed a lovely relaxing stay. Would highly recommend it if you are looking for an Italian escape far from the madding crowd. The surrounding mountains are enchanting with breathtaking views, olive groves and woodland, the sounds of nature, fragrances from flowers and herbs growing, and beautiful clean air. Our room was very nice with...

Thumps up! What a view, what a place. Three adults and two children made it up the really scary road and the many steps. But the house is so authentic and we felt lucky. From the top we Saw eagles from the (small) swimmingpool. Walks up the mountain revealed partisan ruins from the war and old chestnut wire constructions no...

We had a wonderful time at Farmhouse Castagnola! The road up to the house is indeed a bit scary, especially when you have a cheap and weak rental car (although it is a good thing to have a small car up here), but once you're up the view is stunning. Because of the tricky road it's therefore a good idea...

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a positive review. Good advice about the shopping the road :] I like your wording of the "occasional barking" ...we will be speaking to our neighbour about them ! Sorry if it caused you any disturbance,we really hope to be able to welcome you both again one day and...

Our family of four loves to get off the beaten path, and we were thrilled by Castagnola 64. Driving up the mountain was a kick (among the provided directions: "turn right at the yappy dogs" and "if you run into a farmer, just wait and he'll reverse"), and finding a top gourmet restaurant just a couple km away (La Brinca)...

Thank you for choosing us for your stay. We are still laughing about Noah being described as aggressive and possibly senile, he is only 2 years old and really quite a softie but unfortunately is just nervous of certain people so tends to bark until told off :) We agree with you about the heat , you stayed during the...

On a road trip from uk to puglia and was looking for somewhere not a faceless box by side of motorway and this is it, absolutely stunning. Yes you have to drive up a windy mountain track for 20 minutes or so but thats part of the experience as when you arrive you can only say WOW! Ive stayed in...

Farmhouse Castagnola is a little bit far away from everything. In the first route, the road was cut off due to collapse, and the other possible routes fortunately was okay. Sure, it was a narrow and complicated path along the mountainside and co-driver was clearly tense. Eventually we got across was no longer to gain long and bumpy stone steps....

I've been there for one night. Road is quite narrow but pefectly feasible. i've been in a structure downstair (so the famous 176 steps have been skip at the beginning. Nice and simple room. ( I came with a fan..great idea as there is no aircon) morning after we managed the stair and enjoyed a good breakfast. The owners are...

Thank you for taking the time to write such a positive review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay at The Priest's House and I have noted the need for a fan ...as it was an unexpected particularly hot summer I hadn't considered one but will do for the future, thank you for your feedback, much appreciated .

Lovely stay in this beautifully restored farmhouse. We arrived extremely late at night, but our host was there to welcome us and even provided a delicious home cooked meal. Perfect after the long drive up! View from our bedroom was stunning. Great atmosphere, fantastic staff.

Myself, my wife and our girls aged 13 and 10 spent 5 days/nights here during our 13 day tour of North Italy and we wished we had booked longer as the rest of our holiday was hectic living out of a suitcase and checking into different hotels almost daily. It was so nice to be able to fully unpack and...

We spent a week with our two teenage children at the end of August. Lu and Leo were very friendly and made us feel really welcome. The breakfasts were excellent, with fresh fruits, croissants and a different cake (home-made by Lu) every morning, served outside with the spectacular view across the valley. This is more than just a bed and...
