Have just come back from 4 nights at Casa Mario Lupo. This is a great place to stay right in the old town of Bergamo. The accommodation is brilliant - room very spacious and very clean. We stayed in June with outside temperatures exceeding 30oC but room was always cool. You also have access to a nice roof top terrace which is great place to relax. It is located right in the centre of Citta Alta just of the main street, Via Gombito, but it is very quiet. The owner, Gianmoura, is brilliant - very friendly and helpful. If you are planning to visit Bergamo I would definitely recommend staying here.
We stayed at the Mario Lupo for three nights . The hotel is wonderfully located in the heart of the Citta Alta . The rooms are set in an 18th century building and are clean and well equipped . The owner , Gianmoura is so attentive and helpful. He even arranged our transport to and from the airport - and our return was at 4:30am ! We certainly recommend this accommodation for a stay in the truly wonderful city of Bergamo
Ditching our teenagers for the weekend, this was an imperfect Pied a terre for Milano, but in itself a wonderful quiet but central location. Nicely equipped, but be sure to ask Mauricio to turn up the heat. We froze all night in a weekend in May. The daytime temps in Milano were warm, but by the time we got back to Bergamo, it was unpleasantly cool without a jacket. About a twenty minute bus ride from the airport, a 2 euro ride. 5 euros to Milan, but be sure to catch the Trenitalia at 5 minutes after the hour to get the shortest ride, straight into the central train station.
This place is such a great find! Our host was polite, available and very friendly. He prepared us a lovely breakfast on the balcony instead of the breakfast room and gave us tips. We really recommend it!
Stayed here for three nights with my husband, a perfect location in the heart of the old city of Bergamo, Citta Alta. We felt very welcome here and got a lot of help and tips, what to do and see when in town.
Great B&B in Bergamo, the room was huge, the bed was amazing and the bathroom too. Very good breakfast. The location was perfect to visit the city. The host was of great help and very friendly. It was worth the price. I would definitely recommend this B&B if you ever have to visit Bergamo!
Wow, we were more than happy that we found this place to stay in Bergamo. Before we arrived we already had very kind contact with the host who answered all our questions concerning parking and arrival perfectly. We experienced a very warm welcome and were stunned about the wonderful antic house, newly renovated with very modern facilities (bathroom). We slept very good and the homely breakfast was served with charm and we will absolutely come again to this wonderful place. Thanks a lot for your hospitality and kindness!
Casa Mario Lopo is a charming, pleasant place to stay while in bergamo. It’s locstion is perfect for the old town and only a tram away from lower bergamo. Breakfast is served every morning on the beautiful terrace or in your room. The owner is wonderful....very thoughtful and aims to please. The only downside, if you care, is the internet is sporadic and the tv has very few channels. But...the bottom line is casa Mario Lopo is worth the stay....simply charming!
Stayed here for three nights and found the location excellent. The owner is really helpful and friendly. The accommodation is very basic sort of 70s style and breakfast just ok. Parking is on public street and is very safe.
Location: hard to beat - just minutes from the Piazza Vecchia on a quiet side road. Finding it not hard and just minutes from the top of funicular railway that is easy to get on bus 1 or 1A from the station of airport. Room. We took the first floor place. It is in a tasteful room - inside the large room is a small area cut out for a shower/toilet room and another area for a small kitchenette. The owner brought breakfast to the room and we ate in the kitchenette area - too cold to eat on the small balcony outside. The bathroom is a touch tired (broken plug, mirror with tape on one corner; loo seat that is the wrong size for the toilet) but otherwise the shower has plenty of hot water and things worked. The bed is ok - large double and then there is another single bed. Idea for owner: replace the single bed with a sofa bed then the room has comfy seats to sit on?. Breakfast -'ok'. Coffee was luke warm by the time it got to us but with fresh good rolls and a different collection of other things each of the three days. Fruit salad (good) one day; yoghurt with honey another (good) and a boiled egg on another. Idea for owner: provide ground coffee and a cafetiere instead of bringing it down? Noise levels from town minimal (well apart from church bells!). My wife heard nothing else but I heard noise from upstairs flat one morning. Owner approachable and helpful - with little children.…
