At Camping La Fresneda you can hear the silence. Our small, rural campsite offers 24 spacious pitches (all with electricity) to welcome guests who respect and are looking for an idyllic place to enjoy peacefulness and tranquility. We don’t have fixed pitches, chalets, or a swimming pool. To respect the tranquility of our guests, we do not accept groups or domestic animals and we ask guests not to play musical instruments or use airconditioners. Our terraced campsite is situated in the beautiful region of the Matarraña near the border with Catalonia in a beautiful valley overlooking almond and olive groves and offers a panoramic view to the National Reserve ´Los Puertos de Beceite´. There are many hiking and cycling possibilities.

This is definitely the best campsite we’ve visited in Spain. The situation, view from the pitch was amazing the facilities are spotless, the bar area is so pretty and the paella on Saturday night was delicious. We walked into the charming town through woods and olive groves which was so pretty. We found heaven. The hosts were extremely helpful and explained everything on arrival while we enjoyed a complimentary drink.

This is our sixth visit to this gem of a site in rural Spain. Quiet, large pitches, everything is so clean. The hosts are charming and couldn't be more helpful. Lots of good walks and pretty villages within easy reach.

This is the highest benchmark for campsites. The hosts are wonderful, the pitches are big and private, food can be ordered, fresh bread delivered to your door daily. Clean and tidy shower facilities, gorgeous patio and bar area. Simply stunning. Ssshhhhh!!!! Don’t tell everyone 🤐

Don’t be fooled by the 2* classification !! This site is one of the very best where every detail of your stay is attended to by the welcoming Joost and Jet. It is attractively laid out and every pitch has a lovely view. The bathrooms and washing facilities are first class and immaculate. There is a lovely garden bar where fantastic paella is cooked and served by Joost. Guests are provided with an extensive information folder which includes details of way marked walks and cycle routes and points of interest, really useful to make the most of your stay. We had a very enjoyable stay at La Fresneda.

Wow we got lucky when we found this camp site and we’re sorry we only stayed one night It is small and in a very rural part of Spain off the beaten track but if you want peace and quiet then it is for you The owners are very gracious and generous and having booked last minute by email greeted us on arrival with a lovely welcome beer! On arrival we were also given a extensive welcome folder with loads of info on the local area ie villages to visit, wineries, olive oil producers etc really very interesting The toilet/shower and washing up facilities are so clean and there are plenty for the 24 pitches There is a bar which is shut on a Monday which was a shame for us - maybe next time The pitches are well defined and large and because of the terracing you have privacy Bread could be ordered and was delivered to your pitch as could be food from a local supplier We had a nice walk from the site to the local village which was made easy as we followed the green dots left by the owners on the rocks The only thing that could have made it better was a swimming pool although there is a small plunge pool to cool off in if you do some sunbathing Thank you for accommodating us we had a lovely stay and left with our little bottle of olive oil

We recently visited La Fresneda for the first time and from the minute we arrived at the entrance to the campsite we fell in love with it and knew that it was exactly what we hoped it would be, quiet, beautifully laid out and in a stunning location. Jet came to greet us and we were immediately offered a drink, which was most welcome after a long drive, we were told the rules of the campsite which we were more than happy to agree to, then given a folder containing all the information you could possibly want about the site, area, walks, drives, places of interest and much more. The plots are all a good size with bushes and trees to separate them and easy access to water and electric points, the showers, toilets, washing up areas are absolutely superb and are spotlessly clean. Bread can be ordered daily and this is brought to you every morning and either tapas or meals can be ordered and then delivered to your plot from an outside company, but on Saturday evening the paella or vegetarian option served at ' Bar La Roca' is a great opportunity to meet other folk staying on the campsite and the food is great too ! The village of La Fresneda is about 3km away and you can get any provisions you need there, but the village itself is well worth a good look around. There is so much to do and to see in this area, but it is also a pleasure just to relax on the site listening to the birds, including a nightingale at night, admiring the many different trees on the site and enjoying the views from the different terraces. This is the most idyllic site that we have ever visited and we will certainly be back as we don't think we could ever find anything better in Spain. Thank you Jet and Joost for creating a little heaven in the Matarrana area.

This is a must visit camp site .... a little out of the way for some maybe but worth the drive as it is quiet, friendly and overlooks beautiful spanish countryside For us this was already on our radar from seeing it in one or 2 camping books we have. We are travelling around France through to Spain over 2 weeks and are always looking for something a little more unique to the average site Making our way here and after a 4 hour drive through the Pyrénées we were eager to make our way and had fingers crossed we would be able to get a pitch due to being Spain’s Holy Week, Semana Santa Getting a pitch was no issue at all , The entrance is along a long gravel track but quite accessible. Upon arrival it opens up to beautiful trees and quaint laid out terraced pitches We were greeted by the owners who welcomed us openly and instantly offered us a welcome drink which we were very grateful for We had the choice of 6 pitches all overlooking the Spanish countryside and olive groves 24 pitches in total all are Great size pitches with plenty of space to spread yourself out if you wish to Electric hook up is included in the price and very reasonable at €25 a night Amenities are great. Plenty of washing areas, men’s and ladies showers / toilets all of which are modern and spotless Showers are top end of camping showers with plenty of hot water and power !!!! Electric points for hair dryers and plenty of mirrors For those who wish to there is a great facility to order various breads and croissant to be delivered to your pitch the next morning by 9.00 this comes from the local bakery and is fresh and great value Evening meals are also available to pre order and can be delivered to your pitch or eaten on the terraced area which is laid out beautifully to quaint tables and chairs with soft lighting Along with this is a little bar serving local beers and wines along with soft drinks and also sells some local produce ... the olives are fab !! All in all we highly recommend this little site As much as we would love to come back it may be a one off for us due to the nature of this touring holiday and location However should we drive through Spain again in this region it would 100% be a stop for us

The campground owners have put in a tremendous amount of effort and creativity to make it look very nice. The welcoming is done with a big book of excursions and its explanations to all that there is to do and experience in the area. And that is a lot. The area is just gorgeous. Beautiful hikes, bike rides and more. The view from our plot was stunning. The playground is fantastic. Everything is kept up with great care and all is just really clean. There is a little pool but it is too small to really swim, but enjoyable for a refreshing dip. There are options to swim in the village and beyond, however I did miss a good pool or natural area at the campground, which makes staying at the campground a day or two more feasible in the heat. The Dutch couple that runs this campground is friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. La Fresneda has some strict rules that put us off at first, as holidaying to us more about going with the flow etc. However, the rules are mostly about the curfew at 23.00 and we too enjoyed the silence at night. . We will definitely visit again.

We loved this campsite. The owners are very welcoming and helpful!.. We can highly recommend to come here, especially for those who like nature and quietness. The swimming pool is not big but it is enough place to get refreshed! And there is enough to do in the surroundings.

Off the beaten track beautiful campsite with stunning views, situated in a non-touristy area of outstanding beauty. The owners are lovely people, they care passionately about their site and the area and share carefully thought out activities and suggestions of what to do in the area. They also offer delicious food on selected days.
