My wife and I spent 4 nights at the Ramada Plaza Milan I booked this hotel for the pool in the grounds and the balcony the room had.
We arrived early after an early morning flight from the UK and our room wasn’t ready which was not surprising so we headed for the pool only to find that all 15 yes I said 15 sun loungers were already taken bearing in mind that this hotel has 263 rooms and apartments 15 is no where near enough so we sat at the pool bar drinks were reasonably priced and served with a smile bar the bar staff.

We then headed for the town centre via the metro station (Turro Station) which Is around a 6-7 min walk from the hotel.
On arrival back at the hotel we were given the card to our room the room was big and spacious with a minimalistic feel very clean with walk-in wardrobe, bathroom, large bed with crisp white sheets 2 sets of patio doors leading to 12 square metre balcony overlooking the pool the only problem is there is no furniture on the balcony only dirt dust and a container with sand to extinguish cigarettes if you are a smoker what a waste of space as it’s not quite the same standing with a coffee or beer.

On the first evening I received an email from the hotel asking if everything was ok with the room etc with a couple of boxes to tick YES or NO so I ticked NO this then opened up a new window asking me to say why I wasn’t happy so they could put it right if they could I asked them for some balcony furniture needless to say no furniture ever arrived and the balcony was never cleaned so to the hotel management don’t waste your customers time by sending emails you are not going to act on or even reply to.

The next morning we went for breakfast which was ok hot food consisted of scrambled egg, sausages, bacon and potato wedges plus a good range of cold meats, fruit and pastries ok fruit juice and coffee however on the table was a card saying if you wanted a fried egg it would be an extra 4 euro, omelette, waffle, pancake 6 euro each freshly squeezed orange 5 euro etc etc.

To add insult to injury upon check out the male receptionist who checked us out tried to charge us for mini bar items we had used from the free mini bar which was included with our package and when he asked was everything ok with our stay I said I was disappointed he didn’t even ask why.

If the management read this and want to reply I ask the not to reply with the generic “ Sorry we did not meet your expectations and hope we can assist you again in the future please reply with valid explanations.

Dear Guest Thank you for this review, we are happy to read that your stay had positive aspects that you rightly mentioned. Regarding the negative ones, we gladly reply to you and hope we can give you our point of view and thus explain the reasons behind business choices. Pool and garden: the sunbeds are a courtesy that the hotel provides for guests who, after a day out and about in Milan, want to relax a bit. As you rightly said, we have 263 units, but half are apartments where people live permanently year-round, the other half are rooms like the ones you stayed in. Considering the size of our garden, do you think it is possible to put even 80 loungers? We are not a seaside resort, but a city business hotel that has the rare distinction of having a garden and a swimming pool, it seems quite obvious to us to have everything related to the use and type of our Guests. Balconies: there is the wear and tear of time that has marked the floors, it is often mistaken for dirt. This is a structural problem that has nothing to do with the level of cleaning. Regarding the post-check in survey, it is not our intention to waste Guests' time, but to know if there is anything we can do that is "normally covered" such as, for example, bringing an extra amenity to the room, making restaurant reservations, etc. Finally, regarding the minibar, we apologize for this misunderstanding: your reservation is the only remaining offer in effect through a partner where we have included the minibar, which is normally charged instead. This is an error for which we are sorry, certainly not a way to cheat a guest. We thank you for describing your stay so scrupulously and hope our perspective was helpful. Sincerely Ramada Plaza Milano - The Management

We booked this hotel as it offered a suite at a reasonable price and our child desperately wanted a hotel with a pool. We stayed 4 nights. It was about a 20 minute journey to the Duomo, about 7min walk to the Metro station and short hop on the underground. The pool was small but perfect for a welcome cool down after a day sightseeing in Milan. Only one day was the pool a bit overcrowded and not monitored by staff to enforce the maximum occupancy of 4 for social distancing.
We booked a suite and the room was spacious (extra bed for our child). Only one English tv channel unfortunately an American news service.
We ate in the hotel restaurant one night. Good food. We also ate at a trattoria beside the Metro that was excellent and great value.

Overall was a good stay. Rooms are big, personel is smiling and helpful, breakfast is good although if you want the extra mile you will be charged. WiFi connection is ok, there is a nice garden where you can sit and enjoy a glass of wine or dinner which even though we did not use it I found it to be a nice touch. Big plus that is close to a metro station (6 min walk) that can take you to DUOMO in less than 20 mins. Big minus for us that the pool was closed due to construction works, early July, if this isnt poor planning I do not know what it is.

Dear Guest, Thank you very much for your review, we are happy you appreciate our property and all our services. Concerning our "poor planning" - believe us - that we are the first people to be disappointed at not having the pool, it is certainly not intentional...works can unfortunately have unforeseen events. Fortunately it's all over now, we hope you can come back and try out the beautiful new pool! Sincerely, Ramada Plaza Milano

We arrived to the hotel at around 12am and checked in. In the first room, the bed had no headboard and we were told 'thats the style' but every other room had a headboard? We were so tired at this point and finally got moved. The man who came to move us rooms was so very rude, and did not even say hello to us, he just seemed angry. We moved rooms only to find that AC doesn't work and we were told another lie, 'that it has been turned off for whole of Italy and is not allowed'. The rooms were so dirty, and there was a studio kitchen but no mugs, plates or cutlery? What was the point?

We then went to sleep, the bed was like a camper bed, we did not sleep the whole night. My partner had serious back issues the next morning. It was a horrible nights stay and my partner and i were considering booking a flight back home to the UK. We spoke to the manager and asked if there were any rooms with better beds, and the manager said no. We said ok please could we be refunded for the awful nights stay and told her all our issues. She listened and said we would need to contact the 3rd party (Traveluro) to request the refund and she would approve. So thats what we did. We rang them and the agency told us to ask reception to start the refund, we went back to find the manager hiding in the back office and the woman on reception called Mia who was so rude. We asked her to get us the manager and she refused and continued serving other people and taking phone calls whilst we were trying to talk to her. She was so rude. The travel agency were still on the phone listening to all this. The manager told Mia to refuse the refund after saying she would give us a refund on our booking. We asked if the manager would speak to the agency to make things easier, but Mia let us know thats not possible. After 2 hours the manager finally came out, and she refused to speak to the travel agency? And then tried to say theres another Italian agency who have to start the refund, it was all lies.

The travel agency heard all of this on the phone and how the hotel refused to be of any help and they themselves refunded us out of good will as they heard the ridiculous situation. They were great and i recommend booking through Traveluro.

We then had to book another hotel last minute for the rest of our holiday, and guess what... AC worked there! So AC being turned off for the whole of Italy was a complete lie.

My partner also had to book a massage in Milan, and spend more money because he was in so much pain from the uncomfortable bed. I could not move my neck for 2 days.

We wasted more than half a day of our holiday because of Ramadas awful customer service and incompetence. They were the rudest people I have ever come across and the manager, and front of house woman Mia really need to take a look in the mirror.

Do not stay here!

We usually thank customers who decide to spend some time leaving a review on our hotel, for us it is always a good way to improve our services. In this case, however, I must say that not only what you wrote doesn’t correspond to the truth, but also the tones and terms you are using are absolutely inappropriate. That's why I am going to answer for correctness and for a better clarity for tripadvisor users, who will unfortunately come across your review, devoid of truth and full of inaccuracies. I have explained to you several times, in our 45-minute conversation, why the cancellation request needed to been sent by the booking travel agency and not by the intermediary. I'm sorry for not being able to make you understand, but honestly I've tried in every way. What you forgot to write, at the end of your story, is that you were allowed not to pay the price for the unused night, even if it was due. It is a custom way of doing for us, as it is not our policy to push customers to stay at the hotel, should they be unhappy for any reason.

Nice room but not for family holiday. We stayed in the family apartment tower D.

Plus point: rooms are clean and spacious. The cleaning service cleaned the room thoroughly.

Minus point:

The outdoor swimming pool is very small for the size of the hotel so you won't find any spot unless you are there at 9am sharp.

We had breakfast on the first day but the restaurant does not respect covid 19 social distancing. It was very full, all tables are very near to each other and no safe walking route.

I tried to use the laundry room but the machines are not well maintained. They are rusty and the dryer are full with previous user dust. I had to clean 2 cm thick filth from the filter before I dare to use it.

Free access to spa is not true. The sauna was out of order but it was not mentioned during booking and check in. I wanted to check the jacuzzi but there are two ladies who said that we cannot see it. The ladies in the spa don't speak English and could not give good explanation on the possibilities.

No restaurants in the area so you need to order in or go the center to eat (17 minutes with the subway)

Conclusion:
I would not recommend this hotel for family holiday or leisure

We stayed here for 3 nights in June. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk to the Turro Metro stop and also has free parking. If you want garage parking there is a fee, but it really isn’t needed. The Turro metro stop is 15 minutes from the Duomo stop, not bad. The hotel had breakfast each morning which was great( hot American, cold cuts and cheeses, salad bar, yogurts, fresh cut up fruit and whole fruit, desserts and breads and coffees. 7-10am, and was constantly replenished. The rooms were nice beds comfortable and the AC was fantastic. Nice shower too. No pool on the facility and it looked like it was being dug up. Bar and restaurant on site but we did not use.

Spacious rooms with comfy clean beds. Cleaners come every day. Breakfast was standard but great, there were cereals, pastries, salads, bread, and tea/coffee. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel is very close (8 min walk) to the metro station (Turro) which is extremely convenient for getting into the centre (Duomo) and only takes about 10 minutes. There is also a 24-hour (7 euros) or 3-day pass (13 euros) which can be purchased at the metro station. The pass can be used on buses, the metro, and also the trams.

Only used the pool once which was lovely but there weren't many sunbeds available.

The hotel is extensive ?, i booked in tower d , an apartment . The room was very basic , at reception they do the barely minimum to make you feel they care you have a great stay . The facilities are good , gym was clean and equipment well functioning . The restaurant although a bit overpriced serves good food . I am disappointed because I felt the staff did not care about guests and the place being si huge and with few guests felt a bit depressing .

All in all, considering free (outdoor) parking and free breakfast - Ramada is a great deal for Milan.
Just ask for a room NOT on the street side (and come early for Bfst, if you are looking for tranquility:-)
Specious enough room with comfortable bed but somewhat stiff pillows.
Nice bathroom although on the compact side and some towels were very thin but at least they are big and clean. Non of the apps recognized the “made in China” toiletries. Housekeeping (2100 floor) was excellent.
Instant coffee (and tea) only.
A little noisy: Noise of cars driving over a drain-cover right under our window and some nights from the park across the street, Noise from the room above us and from the corridor (the door has a visible space on its side).
Excellent a/c but the WiFi sucks.
The curtains are doing very poor job blocking outside light.
Only one English TV Chanel (Bloomberg).
Breakfast ends too early at 10am (though nobody “pushed “ us out ) and was generally noisy, the coffee sucks but otherwise the food ok. The servers were angels. Always professional, always a service with a smile no matter how busy it got.
Walking to the historic center is about an hour. Couple of blocks away the subway will take you their for 2€ (7€ daily).
Supermarket across the street.

We booked this hotel because it has a private car park and is located on walking distance from a metro station.
It's a four star hotel with comfortable and clean rooms.
Mostly tourists are staying in the hotel during the holiday season, staff is not completely set to this group of visitors.
Breakfast is excellent.
