I chose this hotel for a two night stay as the location worked for me and it is close to the Navigli neighbourhood, which is a great area for dinner and drinks. Milan isn’t a massive city, so walking to the central areas from the hotel is quite possible, but those visiting for a quick weekend break may want a hotel that is closer to the Duomo area.

The welcome at the hotel was very good and everything was well set up for social distancing. My room was a standard room with one three-quarter size bed (small double), which was very comfortable and as it was at the back of the building it was extremely quiet. There were plenty of sockets and a mini fridge, with two bottles of complimentary still water (always much appreciated). The bathroom wasn’t huge, but did have a bidet and a good shower with a very trendy wooden floor.

One of my other main reasons for choosing the Mercure was that I knew the rooms had a safe and as I had valuable work equipment with me, I wanted to keep it locked while I was out in the evening. Unfortunately as I tried to use it on the first night I found out the battery was low so the door wouldn’t lock. I didn’t have time to raise it with front desk as I needed to go out straight away (so took my valuables with me). The next morning I told front desk about the problem and they said they would sort it. On returning to my room that evening the battery problem had been resolved, but the safe would still not operate properly and I still couldn’t close the door. I went back to front desk to ask for another room, but was told I couldn’t change and they’d send someone in twenty minutes to look at it. Yet again I was on a tight deadline and I didn’t have time to wait, so for the second night in a row I took my valuables out with me. I am sure that this is an unusual occurrence for the hotel and the staff were all very polite to me, it was just frustrating on this occasion as it was a trip where I really did want to use the safe.

As the hotel was just somewhere for me to sleep, I didn’t have breakfast either morning or visit the bar, so I’m afraid I can’t comment.

This is a comfortable hotel in a quiet area of the city and when the new M4 Metro line (eventually) opens this hotel will be well placed, on a direct route to/from Linate airport. I would be happy to stay here again, but the first thing I would do is to make sure the safe is operational.

I would just like to share my great experience at your hotel. I eat a plant-based diet and both mornings the chef went above and beyond to make a vegan croissant and show me all the options I could have, he was very professional and friendly and elevated the experience I had in your hotel. Please pass this message to the general manager or coordinator as his service was one of the best I have had and most importantly it made me feel very welcome,

I stayed here for 2 nights in early August and I loved my stay. The hotel was super clean, my room was an apartment style, with three rooms, more than sufficient. There was no room cleaning service during my stay because of Covid measures, and this was clearly explained, and was fine by me. The hotel is very close to the canal area Navigli, about 8-9 min walk, which was very convenient for lunch/dinner. All other attractions were 15 min walk and there were mobile bikes in a small park opposite the hotel. I would stay again.

The hotel is definitely not worth a 4 star and is by far our worst Mercure and Accor groupe experience.
We booked a large appartment with two rooms and they wanted to charge us for an additional 5 years old child.
They have a sofa-bed in the living room that was litterally locked and on purpose. They seriously asked to charge us to have someone come in the room to open it to the bed position. Please don't call it an apartment if you don't know how to handle it.

The rooms were very badly cleaned and the door to the apartment was left opened after cleaning.
The receptionist was obviously a trainee and there was no manager on duty during the weekend (because of holidays season they said!!).

I can't recommend this place to anyone.

Dear Mr. Fahd B, We are extremely surprised to read this review from you after all the efforts made by our staff to satisfy your requests. After my attempt review to your stay it seems that you booked through our official web site one Apartment for 2 person with 1 double bedroom, living room and kitchen. This category of Apartment has no description of sofa bed (like the other solutions available on our website). That’s means that is not possible open the sofa bed, in fact in the description is visible that the mentioned Apartment is for maximum 3 person (on request we can provide a roll way bed) At your arrival We discovered that the number of person was different from the reservation, 2 Adult, and 2child ( 6 and 11 years old). We never ask an extra charge for open the sofa, the price that we ask you was an extra charge of 30,00 € for the children. As you can see from our website in the reservation section is clearly indicated that “Children From 3 years old are considered as adults”. For this reason You have been ask to pay the supplement for the children. Supplement that you refused to pay together with our proposal to bring an extra bed in the Apartment. We deeply sorry to read that our cleaning standards weren’t up to your satisfaction, but I can assure you that our Housekeeping Manager checks every day every single room immediately after the Chambermaids cleans the rooms and of course before Customers arrives, but I will personally double check with the cleaning team to verify they’re up to standards. Dear Mr. Fahd B, unfortunately during your stay we weren’t unable to make you contact our Manager as he was on holidays. As front office Manager who I am, I spoke with you during your departure and all our staff tried to accomplish your needs. Anyway we do hope to welcome you back soon trying to regain your trust. Best regards Alessandro Dobbo

We booked this due to Mercure brand, loyalty program and most importantly the location. Booking process was smooth.

The Room was great for our family and really spacey and equipped with all the necessary amenities including a Nespresso machine. Beds were really comfortable. It seems all the rooms and equipment and very new.

Location is great and about 20 min walking to Duomo. Staff at the reception were very helpful and professional. We used the car park which was in a separate location but person at there was really efficient and explained all the process and no delays or hassle. Hotel is very safe and we hadn't had any issues and hope it stays same.

Based on the service and the room we got, Mercure Milano Solari will be our first choice next time in Milano and altogether a great family room for four of us.

This is a smallish hotel tucked away a little distance from the Duomo but trams stop is only a short distance away. It takes about 10 minutes. The hotel needs some updating but is adequate for a short stay. Unfortunately the staff did not know what The Last Supper was let alone how to get tickets for it. Eventually they tried to show me the location on Google Map which was useless as without a reservation you can’t get there. The rooms are adequate, not flash. Buffet breakfast is good.r

The only positive thing first: the staff was very friendly and kind of seemed to know that this Mercure is way below standard. I have made the booking directly through my Accor app. Once I’ve arrived (at around 22:00 hrs), I was informed that the checkout time will be 10:00 - on a Sunday! This was not to be changed by my Accor silver status or anything, I wasn’t even proposed a chargeable option. The rooms are worn off and the floor looks like as if someone was playing ice hockey on it. Moreover, they seem not to have any form of acoustic insulation whatsoever. I was woken up at 07:00 by people walking around in the corridor - well, that solved my checkout problem at least. The translation of the breakfast menu seemed to have been done by a Kindergartener and the service time of the breakfast took around 40 minutes! (There was no buffet due to COVID restrictions.) During the 10 a.m. checkout, the second employee behind the front desk didn’t seemed to be bothered by the many people waiting. So, I just left the key and deposited my feedback here instead. Never again.

Staff is very polite and helpful But our room was full of mosquitos. After killing about a dozen we stopped by the front desk to see if they could do something about this situation.aware They told us that they are aware of tge problem and that they would spray the room and put some kind of electronic device that kills mosquitos. Not exactly a great solution but whatever. We go back and still mosquitos. Room was adequate at best

We had a wonderful stay at the Mercure Solari with our group. The hotel staff couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating. Our room was quiet, the beds comfortable, the shower excellent. Breakfast was a treat with a wide selection of choices: local cheeses and breads, fresh pastries, eggs, etc - something for everyone. We would stay at the Mercure Solari again in a heartbeat!

I didn't use the parking but as far as I know there is one nearby the hotel. There is a fee and you have to book it. Check with the hotel. Enjoy your stay.
