Château Monfort is 5 star hotel located just a few minutes walking from the City Center and the main fashion District. Its 77 rooms, with 5 Junior Suites and 5 Suites, are overwhelmed by a charming atmosphere, some retrò style details and a special glamour touch. Château Monfort offers a new philosophy of hotellerie based on fashion, music and art and to recapture a sort of childhood fairytale. The "Rubacuori" Restaurant is an enchanted place where an ensemble of art and passion are turned into a poem by mediterranean savours. Located in the heart of our lobby area under a stunning dome ceiling, our Lounge Bar Mezzanotte plays the landlord role with charms and luxury. Fantastic atmospheres are reserved to the areas dedicated to relax, conferences and events. A dedicated area for meetings, "Le Segrete", a spacious ballroom "La Sala dell'Incantesimo" and a wine cellar "La Cella di Bacco" offer guests exclusive moments to experience. I stayed here for 8 nights, 4 nights for vacation and 4 nights for business. The room is big enough and clean. The room service is exceptional. They come twice a day, clean the room, replace all towels and amenities and leave you a complementary water bottle and little candies. There were some plumbing issues in the bathroom as it is a renovated old building. The shower is in a bathtub style and the basin taps are separate hot and cold water instead of a mixer tap. The room decoration was slightly bizarre and over the top with owls everywhere including inside the wardrobe. But the style of the foyer and staircase is beautiful( in my opinion😊). The front desk staff are super lovely and super helpful.

This hotel is part of the Relais and Chateaux group. This means it attracts a lot of Americans as they clearly use such accolades as guidance in choosing their accommodation. However, it also means a lot of loud people and wasted food at breakfast as they seem unable to moderate their portion sizes to what they can actually eat rather than what they think they can eat.

The hotel is about fifteen to twenty minutes' walk from the centre of Milan and the duomo. If you arrive in Milan at Milano Centrale, don't bother to get a taxi (not that we could when we did as they were all on strike!) but get the no. 9 tram which leaves from Piazza IV Novembre to the north of the station (remembering to buy your ticket first from a tobacconist) and alight at Piazza Tricolore. The hotel is twenty yards or so from the tram stop.

There are currently road and excavation works ongoing immediately in front of the hotel for a new (and hugely behind schedule) metro line. They start up around 7am. Our room overlooked these works but we were never disturbed by them.

The room was individually decorated (the animal motif for ours was owls) and the bed was very comfortable. Not the most spacious room but I suppose fairly standard for a European city centre hotel. The bathroom was compact but entirely functional. Both were spotless.

We stayed on a bed-and-breakfast basis. The self-service buffet was well stocked and frequently replenished. Hot food can be made to order.

There are plenty of restaurants in the environs of the hotels for evening meals and the hotels has its own restaurant as well, although we did not eat there.

One night we decided to have a drink in the hotel bar before venturing out. The prices are outrageous. We ended up just having one soft drink each (I don't expect to have to pay nearly 30 euros for a gin and tonic!) which cost nearly 20 euros . When we advised why we were having soft drinks and not staying longer, it was suggested that the hotel had to recoup some of the losses from Covid somehow!! Not by fleecing your customers it isn't!

The reception staff were always attentive and helpful. Housekeeping starts early and each day we returned from breakfast to a label saying that they had been to service the room but had been unable to. If that happens, just let reception know when you leave for the day and you will return to a spotless and serviced room.

We left this hotel rather underwhelmed given the five star rating and other reviews on this site. Don't get me wrong: this is not a bad hotel. Not at all: we have stayed in far worse. But for me, it does not represent value for money.

This is a lovely hotel and we loved having a metro station right outside. The staff was helpful and it was great having the ability to get a taxi at a moment’s notice.

The beds were comfy (which I appreciated after coming from Paris where sadly that was not the case). The robes and slippers were very nice and unlike in Paris we had English speaking tv channels, a true closet and a large bathroom with a great shower. I do wish the room had been larger - we could not get more than about a foot of space between the 2 beds as oddly the bedside tables don’t move.

I do think they need to do a better job of informing guests about all their offerings. I had no idea they have a concierge until now. I didn’t know until our last day they sell metro tickets (tho the cash requirement is inconvenient). And there seemed to be some mixup with the spa. I know when I booked on their website the price said it included free spa access but they couldn’t confirm this when we arrived. It was disappointing that we could not even see the pool without booking an appointment.

And lastly the 28 euro breakfast is ridiculous. It would have been so convenient to eat at the hotel, but on principle I refuse to be overcharged for food. Luckily there is a California Bakery just down the street with an all day breakfast menu at very reasonable prices.

My boyfriend and I stayed here in one of the superior rooms for 3 nights in February. The rooms are decorated lavishly but it is such a shame they are so small and not for two people (one sink, one table, queen bed). The hotel itself was very pretty but very expensive for the room size and quality (needs a renovation). However, Leonora from guest relations was very helpful in booking & recommending restaurants. The location was not great either as it is not in the center. The food was decent but expensive. Overall it was a pleasant stay, the spa was very nice. But be aware that the superior rooms are very small!

We stayed there tree nights. The hotel is about 19 min drive from Linate airport. So you be there very fast. The hotef is in a sort of palazzo. Unfortunately in front of the hotel is a major construction work of the metrostation, but one time you are inside you are in a fairy tale decor! The checkin was fast and the rooms were shown . We had rooms second floor courtyard view, very quiet. The rooms have good airco and wfi, minibar filled, amenities in bathroom etc. They are of decent size and very well maintained and clean! Evening turndown also. Breakfast is in the Rubacuoro restaurant, fresh products, warm and cold, high standards of hygiene. We had dinner in the Rubacuori restaurant a preset menu very nice in very nice setting. The bar is in the lobby.
It is not a cheap hotel but you get a lot for it. The hotel lies what excentric in a quiet neighborhood, the Duomo and via Montenapoleone and other landmarks lie on 15 min walk. I will return!

We had stayed in a number of 5* hotels around the world, and let down once there, with poor maintenance and often rooms not being as nice as shown on the photos, however this one was truly beautiful, and very good value for money.

Incredibly well maintained, and just as beautiful as shown in the pictures, I would not hesitate to come back to this hotel again.

The staff could not do enough to make our stay truly amazing, providing an extremely efficient and quick responding service.

If you are a stickler for detail, and appreciate the finer touches in life, you will not be let down by this selection.

Beautiful hotel in Milan. Rooms are a good size and the shower is also big with piping hot water.
The bar area of the hotel is small but lovely, drinks are quite expensive here.
The staff are so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them
Housekeeping came every day and there was no shortage of towels or toiletries
The hotel was within walking distance of all the sights.
If we return to Milan in the future we wil definitely stay here again.

We booked 4 nights to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary in Milan. From the moment we arrived we were looked after so well by Walter at reception , early check-in as our room was ready , coffee and great advice where to eat in the various areas in Milan. The hotel and our room were flawless , really impressed with the quality , a lovely personal touch from the hotel was the complimentary bottle of champagne and chocolates to mark our anniversary , if you are planning a romantic break in Milan you should look to stay in Chateau Monfort , the hotel is only a 15 minute walk to Duomo so ideally located .

We had booked Milan for a special birthday weekend attending the opera and chose this hotel due to location and the hotel looked beautiful. It did not disappoint! The room was tastefully decorated and the place was immaculately clean. The bathroom was a good size and the bar was something else. We did not make use of the spa but will do next time hopefully. The main memory of our stay is the exceptionally warm welcome we received during our stay - the staff could not have been more helpful. Easy walk to the main attractions around Milan. Super quiet rooms and lovely ambience. The cocktails in the bar were exceptional. We really enjoyed our stay and cannot wait to return. Thank you to all of you

I have only seen hop on hop off at the square where the Dom is. We have visited the Last Supper but we did use Uber. We normally go for at least one day hop on hop off when doing a city trip but in Milan we preferred to use Uber now and then as the center is really small. Make sure you book tickets for The Last Supper as it sells very fast.
