A minimalist 4 * business hotel. Located in a lively hood next to a metro station, but beyond the tangenziale. You will be in 15/20 mns by metro in the city centre.
It is a small hotel, with 4 floors, and a restaurant on the last floor (rooftop), where breakfast are served till 10am
Rooms are minimalistic, it makes it suitable for a very short stay only, they have no in room closet, just an open rack with hangers above the bed, there are no storages nor a hanger in the entrance.

I booked a single room, it had a queen bed, a narrow desk and a chair and enough room to move around with a nice bathroom, albeit modern, but a weekend is the max you can spend in this hotel, and definitely you would only sleep in the room.

And despite having specifically and repeatedly eveb at check in, requested a room on the back and not the street, I ended up in #310 a street facing room, overseeing an across the street bar that had loud music late into the night and massive crowd partying on the side walk, which could be heard despite the "sound proofed" windows.

There was not even ab hanger in the entry, only above the bed, bed lights were into my eyes and barely usable, but the room design is nice, just not very functional.

The hotel has several free parking spots, available on a 1st come 1st served basis, but the hood had plenty free parking anyway.
Breakfast was good, except the cappuccino, clearly not the strength of the waitresses that morning. But staff is overall friendly and young.

I paid 87 euros for 1 night, I would stay there again, the neighborhood has plenty outstanding restaurant's and cafes, but Milano has a lot of other 4* around

The hotel is located in Milan surbub but close to the downtown (20 min from the Duomo by metro). You can park your car outside for free in the hotel backyard. The ladies at the reception are very kind and the breakfast was excellent. We appreciated the light and typically Italian meal we could have at the restaurant the evening when we arrived. The rooms are very comfortable and silent. We also appreciated their very modern design.

The receptionist was friendly and helpful
The room was clean and comfortable with a double shower.
The breakfast was one of the better ones that we had in Milano - only 12 Euro with a good variety and excellent bread and coffee in particular.
The location is OK, about 5 Metro stops from the central train station. There is an excellent restaurant on the same street, a bit after the hotel.

I stayed in this hotel for four times. Quality of service is falling every time I came. This year I had to come since management of hotel was too greedy to return my (really expensive) advance payment for a stay for Salone del Mobile 2019. I booked many hotels in this period and due Covid restrictions every other hotel in Italy returned money without any problem - they were all covered by Italian government help.

This was absolutely last stay at Nu Hotel and I can only warn everybody to be careful and book it via Booking with cancellation possibility.

Dear Guest, we thank you for the time you dedicate to review our structure, but we are really sorry to read you words. Help us to understand what didn't work. Despite the pandemic, we have kept our quality standards high, ensuring and improving safety and comfort at the same time. (our safe-directions are published on our website) Regarding Salone del Mobile 2021, since the event was held regularly in September, we worked in accordance with Law ( there are no coverage by Italian Government, if the hotel is open, unfortunately it's more complicated as it seems). A voucher as been considered only for reservations of those countries that could not yet reach Italy due to their local Governement. restrictions. Your booking was made for a stay for Salone del Mobile 2019, and has been moved and guaranteed till Salone del Mobile 2021, when finally the Exhibition took place. Hope this further information may be useful for you. We hope to see you soon at NU again.

The road facing rooms were very noisy and unfortunately the hotel policy is to switch off air conditioning at 10 PM so the rooms become very hot at night in the summer. Once reported we switched rooms to a quieter room and a call to the front desk switched the air conditioning back on. Good location for the underground to central Milan

Response from SMerante SMerante, General Manager at NU Hotel Milano
Responded 1 Jul 2021
Dear Guest, I'm sorry and surprised at the same time to read about your mishap.. Let me give some useful infomation: all our 38 rooms are completely soundproofed especially those facing the rood at the first floor, but , for example, if the windows remains open even a litte bit, the result is useless. Regarding Air condition, maybe someone gave you a wrong information and I will verify it for you , but as the Hotel Manager I assure you that our climatization system works setting the best temperature in room during the whole stay. We do not use the classic Ari condition system , maybe only ventilation was switched on in your room, that is necessary for your healthy sleep. But if you even don't desire it, we can easy switch it off. Hope to be useful for your next stay at NU Hotel.

We stayed for 1 night in a transition from a train from Paris to a Train for Venice. Very Modern style and trendy. The room was lass than 200 sq ft, but the design was such that is worked for 1 night. I was surprised that for a modern building, it did not have any USB ports. The bathroom was larger then we expected and well designed. Overall,. The modern design led to may hard surface, so anyone walking about made a great deal of noise. Rooms 108 and 109 will suffer the most since they are near the lobby and the elevator. Another issues was the temperature control. For a modern structure, it had a centralized control for the environmental controls. Our room stayed 22c for the entire night. I asked several time for the temp to be lowered and it never happened. I slept very little that night due to being too hot. If I am camping I deal with it, when I am in a hotel I don’t think I should. I do believe they have larger rooms.

The front staff is nice and attentive. The breakfast was also great.

However, we had a couple of problems at this hotel.

Air conditioning is a joke! When we came back to our room at 10 PM it was very hot and muggy, and the air conditioning was not working. I set the air conditioning thermostat to the desired temperature and waited but nothing happens. Then inquired with the front desk, who told me that they actually set the temperatures for the rooms (strange, why do they have a Thermostate in the room?) I asked them to lower the temperature, and they told me to wait a little. I waited, and after 20 minutes nothing happened. I called back and was informed to wait a little longer. I waited a little longer and again nothing happened. About an hour later around midnight I called the front desk again and ask them for a different room. They gave us a different room, but it was the same problem with the air conditioning. Thankfully the room was a little cooler, though, despite not being our desired temperature it was late enough sleep.

The second problem is that this hotel does not have any carpets. This means that the doors of the rooms slam loudly and it’s echoing across the halls.

Lastly, there is no way to lock the door from the inside, which is a standard feature in the hotels I usually stay in.

The Hotel looks very fancy, it’s totally clean, the rooms are perfect and staff is very friendly. Also it‘s just 2 minutes away from a metro station, going directly downtown in 10-20 minutes. Would definitely come again!

Been there the second time and was pleasantly surprised the service is still outstanding. Clean room, great breakfast and always friendly and customer oriented employees. Looking forward to the next visit. Hotel is located near the Metro and traveling from there is easy and not stressful at all.

As usual, everything's perfect.
The only annoying thing is the impossibility of regulating the air conditioning in the room: the control is centralized and during the night it is still a bit too cold for me.
And some extra hooks in the bathroom for hanging towels
