Aurora Hotel is located just 1 block from the train station in an nice area and just 1 block fro the beginning of the pedestrian street. Furniture is all new and rooms are spacious. Service from all areas is very dedicated and oriented to the customer. The breakfast has variety of meals and it is well prepared. Very good choice to consider if you pass by Pavia.
Fantastic customer service, all the staff were welcoming and did their utmost to ensure we enjoyed our stay in the hotel and the city. Gave us tips on where to visit, what not to miss, best way to get around... went above and beyond every time we passed by reception to say hello and chat. Would definitely stay here again if visiting Milan, highly recommend.
If you're looking for somewhere to stay in Milan on a budget, I would recommend this place. It's basic but has everything you need and the staff are helpful. On a main road but wasn't too noisy at night. The free breakfast is given by use of a token at the cafe a few doors down. It gets you a coffee and a croissant but the cafe was closed one of the mornings (as were most things in Milan) so we missed out on the free breakfast that day.
I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in June. The location is perfect for a solo traveller. Close to public transportation. Main shopping street so very safe and always busy. Close to many restaurants and coffee shops. The room was a bit small but quite clean and convenient for someone who spends most of the day outside. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was air-conditioned with a small TV.
We checked into the Aurora for two days on our way to Bellagio and initially thought Milano seemed way too busy and impersonal. However we were lucky enough to speak with the gentleman on the desk (we didn't get his name unfortunately - pic below) whose knowledge of Milan and its history changed our minds completely and allowed us to visit some amazing parts of the city - the hotel was cheap, clean and reasonable but he was a star. Would stay again.
