My two university age children and I spent four nights at Al Dom in early July 2023. Lake Orta is a magical part of Piedmont, and San Giulio is at the heart of it. Much less touristy and commercial than Lakes Como and Maggiore. After visiting Como and returning to Al Dom at the end of the day, my kids sat and looked over to Isola San Giulio and the hills in the distance - the consensus was that it was much more beautiful. Massimo runs a wonderful B&B at Al Dom. The rooms are perfect, beds are comfortable and the lakefront garden is perfect for relaxing after a day of walking. We cherished our early morning swims in the lake (how is it 24C?) before enjoying the wonderful breakfast that Massimo provides. He is a gracious host, and very helpful with information and recommendations. We hope to be back soon...…

Orta San Giulio as a place, perhaps the MOST beautiful place we have experienced in our lives ! And, that, is a huge statement at our ripe ol ages of 68/ 71 since these eyes have taken in a lot of beauty in the world. The Al Dom B & B is perfect pitch for this lovely romantic and poetic destination. The Owners care deeply about their guests and offer 5 star hospitality quietly and with no fuss. The views of the lake from each room are beautiful along with the sound of bells that toll & echo a quarter of a mile across the lake. The island that is 1/4 mike off shore is called Isola San Giulio where there is a 19 C Monastery that is home to over 40 Cloistered Nuns. The majesty & beauty of Isola San Giulio is all captured from your bedroom view @ Al Dom …. We woke up to the smell of fresh croissants baking and a delicious Breakfast every day. We can’t say enough about our stay @ Al Dom B & B. Thank You to Massimo & his lovely wife for making us feel so at home ! We also enjoyed a tour of the lake on Massimo’s cool vintage boat … James Bond style !! Be sure to do this ! 👍🏻 You will fall in love again & again.…

Everything about this B&B was perfect. All rooms have a view of the beautiful lake and are quiet and spotlessly clean. The host, Massimo and his wife, are perfectionists and we felt so much at home in this little piece of Paradise. Our room was extremely comfortable with a lovely bathroom. Breakfasts were outstanding with an amazing fruit salad plus additional fresh fruits, delicious and incredibly fresh breads, croissants, pastries - all so light and delicious. Boiled eggs with special cutters and lovely honey dispensers as well as home made jams. In addition, plenty of delectable hams and cheeses, plus freshly made coffee/selection of teas. Massimo took us out for an hour's boat ride on the lake - a very special Riva boat complete with James Bond music! We paid extra for this of course but it was worth every euro. The decor at this lovely house is gorgeous and every detail so carefully considered. We are so pleased we chose this hotel - it was definitely one of the great highlights of our stay at the Lakes and Milan. …

My room was spotlessly clean, with a wonderful view of the lake from the balcony. Bathroom was well-equipped and modern. Breakfast was good: cereals, cold meats, cheeses, breads, croissants, fresh fruit, yogurt, boiled eggs etc. The host Massimo is friendly and helpful and speaks excellent English. The location is perfect, very close to the village centre, but not close enough to be noisy. There is a lovely lakefront garden. Not cheap, but worth it. Highly recommended.

Al Dom B&B is is the lake's edge just a couple of minutes from the village centre. The very old and quirky property is exceptionally clean and well kept. Massimo the host is incredibly diligent at maintaining standards, is most helpful and a pleasure to meet.

I spent two wonderful days and nights in Al Dom's calm, quiet atmospheric room with a view of the immortal lake that made me think of Dante. Spacious suite that made me want to stay longer, lovely bath, and a view to die for. Breakfast, under Covid circumstances, was personally served, meditative, varied, fresh, with lashings of coffee. Massimo is a gentleman. Lago d'Orta is a corner of heaven, and Al Dom sets the tone.

Massimo, our host, has a wonderful B&B. In these Covid times, there is always a worry about how clean a place is..... there are no worries here. It is absolutely spotless. Our room had a fantastic view of the island and lake, and was very large. The B&B has a lovely inner courtyard that guests can use to relax, or the lakeside garden, from which you can go swimming directly into the lake. Massimo had lots of suggestions for great restaurants and things to do. This hotel was a great find and we would highly recommend it to anyone thinking about staying on Lake Orta or in San Guilio. Oh.... and the breakfasts are delicious... much better than the normal Italian spread!

Rather than an ordinary B&B, staying here makes you feel instead that you have a good friend with a spectacular home in a stunning location. I'd long been told that Lake Orta is the best lake in Italy (most romantic actually), and for me this was the perfect spot. You can walk to everything in the town of Orta San Giulio in two minutes. The entire place is immaculate, that's not an exaggeration. Super comfortable bed, spacious room and bathroom (we had the junior suite), private balcony, unforgettable breakfast. Massimo is helpful with any information you need, and he has a good sense of humor. Definitely planning to return as soon as possible!

Perfect 3 night stay at Al Dom. The location, views, gorgeous interior and incredibly helpful host, Massimo, made it a wonderful stay. The breakfast is extensive and delicious and the lovely garden with private access to the lake tops off the overall experience. I unfortunately got a puncture on my hire car and called Massimo to see if he could help. Not only did he change the wheel for me, he then drove me to a number of garages to try and repair or replace the tyre, all in his own time. He really went above and beyond to help me which I really appreciated. Hats off to you Massimo. You are the perfect host, managing a stunning B&B in an incredible location.
