We could not fault this amazing gem which we selected as our skiing/new year celebration family holiday. We wanted somehwere which had something for everyone in our wide range age bracket and this place definitely had it all! Great clean well designed rooms, amazing restaurant with a talented chef, great spa with indoor/outdoor pool and a shuttle bus to get us to the slopes. Very friendly Owners and staff who were most attentive to all of our needs throughout our stay. The Chef was alsways happy to adjust the menu offering for our 4 year old yet the rest of us were indulging every evening into the delicious innovative cuisine supported by a great wine list! We travel a lot for business worldwide and Chalet Hotel Tianes meets all our criteria and experiences with ease - Bravo!
Something to mention which is a testament to the staff working there - my wife forgot in the room a very expensive ring which we only realised being back home 2 days later. We called the Hotel and were told that the ring has been found and is now stored in the safe and ready to be shipped back to us!
Needless to say we will be back again this year as the entire stay was 100% perfection.

Stayed here for 3 nights, hotel has an ethnic Tyrol theme which sits well with the area. Modern hotel nice rooms with plenty space and great views. No 6 bus terminates at hotel so easy to travel around, also a shuttle to the Ski-lift and to Ortisei. Enjoyed the meals. My bag got lost in transit and the staff were very helpful in trying to find out what was happening to it.

Our stay here was story-book perfect. We were celebrating our 25th anniversary in October and the hotel was so beautiful. It is of the vernacular of the Tyrolean area, faux painting and wooden beams, well done. We used Chalet Tianes as a base to drive a little ways and do day hikes that made me think I was Johanna Spyri's Heidi. I highly recommend Chalet Tianes. We enjoyed the dining room, the pool , the sauna with the grazing cows out the window, and our balcony.

our family of 4 traveled to Tianes and met another family there. we each had a family suite, which meant our family had 3 rooms total: 2 bedrooms with a living room in between, with 2 bathrooms. It was luxurious for us ( not cheap though). I loved the area; Alpe Di Suisi is fabulous. Everyday, we did some sort of beautiful hike, bike ride, and even Rock climbing with the kids. It is Italy, but is very Alpine with German influence ( Used to be Austria). Tianes is newer, very fresh, and all very nice. They serve some killer food: breakfast is full of good things to choose, buffet style, and then Dinner is gourmet, 5 courses.... we skipped lunch whenever we could get away with it with the kids, cause there was so much food. Even with all the activities, you could actually gain weight. They had Cake/ tea time every afternoon. Every day was a new food adventure. everyone loved the warm Indoor/outdoor pool. one of our adults did a massage, and loved it. The weather said rain everyday, but we realized that this meant usually about 15-30 minutes of rain at some point, usually light, so we adjusted our plans to ignore the weather report. In the alpe, if you get caught in rain, there are numerous huts, restaurants, hotels dotting the paths, so you can always duck in some where. We would strongly recommend going to visit the TIRLER, in the Alpe: this is a restaurant with yummy food and with a large playground for kids, and then about 3/4 mile of pathways up the river stream, through the woods with natural and fun sculptures, including various swings made out of twigs/ wood, all very whimsical, so especially if you have kids in tow, find this place and do their paths ( it is in the region where the sulfur water is located, so that is the only notation on the alpe maps). You have to decide which type of pass to buy: there are many options, which have various options for the gondolas and shuttle buses around the valleys and up into the Alpe. There is so much to do in the outdoors, you could stay much longer than 1 week, if you are inclined towards this sort of thing. It looks like a winter paradise.
The Only complaint we have about Tianes is the internet. This is echoed by others: they only have Wi Fi in their lobby area, not even by the Pool, or outside sitting areas. You have to pay by the hour for it. We usually use internet heavily to evaluate and schedule what we want to do in an area. Every night, I would usually be researching for the next day. The only internet in the room requires a cable (and the hourly charges) and so I did not do any of my usual research. If you are aware, you can use some internet and keep the charges down( 2 euros per hour) by signing out when you are done. I just did not want to sit in the lobby all the time. So, Great place to disengage from Technology !
We would strongly recommend this area of the Mountains, and we recommend Tianes. They get to know you, we loved the staff. They even set up decorations for our twin boys birthday, as they noticed it was their birthday when they registered their passports.

We stayed it this hotel 9 nights and could say that it was perfect.

The hotel is situated between Castelrotto and Ortisei in a very quite place, but not far from the main road.

Hotel is absolutely new and is operated by family Picorulaz, they are doing really great job and trying to meet all guests' requirements.

By free shuttle bus (provided by hotel) you can go to Ortisei from which you can reach two skiing arias: Alpe di Suisi (great place to start) and Sisieda (the starting point to Sela Ronda ski tour).

We would say our holiday consisted of two parts: skiing and then relaxing in hotel afterwards. Hotel Spa center is fantastic, especially the outdoor pool with Jacuzzi and the sauna area (Finish sauna with glass wall is the best one. We did enjoy it). In Spa center you can have tea or water with lemon and mint that are free of charge.

Food and beverages were fantastic: there were different dishes every evening, all of them were unbelievably interesting and tasty. Each dinner was a perfect evening for us from its first minute to the end and we started waiting it already in the morning while having our breakfast J (that by the way was also good). Not only the dishes themselves but also the friendly and very attentive waiters create warm and comfortable atmosphere in the restaurant.

In general everything was great; it is real Alpine Relax, many thanks to the hotel staff.

We were in the hotel for 10 days.
Usually in this area the food is extremely good. Not in this hotel where the level of the food is really really bad.
The service in the dining room is poor and the main lady is very unfriendly. Overall the staff is very unfriendly: again unusual in this area.
No wifi in the room.
Not a 4star S hotel for sure.

Once again we have stayed at the Tianes, the very good standards have been maintained and a details can be seen on my previous reviews.
All the staff are excellent and speak fluent English the food is excellent and the hotel is impeccably maintained
Two slight criticisms are that there are very few umbrellas in the garden and that the massage jets in the pool only seem to work at certain times.
Neither of these small points will stop us returning again in the near future.

The hotel is isolated, at about 2 km from the first village. The ski shuttle coms lot of time per day. Selva Di Val Gardena is at 10 min with the car. Lot of cafeteria, restaurants, shops and nice walking streets. We're you looking you can see ski slopes, incredible! :)

We returned this year following a good experience last year.
We had a different room but with the same beautiful views over the mountains. There was an even larger balcony with table chair and lounger. Once again our menu was provided in English without having to ask.
The evening meals normally consisted of 4 courses plus an extensive salad buffet but on a Sunday it was a 7 course gala dinner. The wine list was extensive but a house Sauvignon at 8 euros was available and very nice. Breakfast was an extensive buffet style with eggs cooked to order. The afternoon cake buffet was even better than last year with more choice together with fresh fruit.
The indoor and outdoor pools were excellent but there was a shortage of umbrellas for the outside loungers.
A small problem was that we appeared to arrive at hay making time and following collection the farmers do like to spread manure on their fields which if the wind is in the wrong direction smells.
Wifi is only available in the public areas of the hotel, and for such a good hotel should be extended to the rooms.

The hotel is located outside the city about 5 minutes by car, so the view of the mountains is awesome, some walking tours in summer can be done from there and also is not too far from the Alpe Sussi, where there is a good destination for skiing. The food is also quite good and there are offered some guided walkings. There is a good quality and price relation.
