Such a lovely place, just outside Merano but easy enough to walk into town, should one wish! Pool and spa rooms, bar and great restaurant, why leave! Very helpful staff, and seriously lovely rooms. A bucket list stay!

A lovely old castle in a wonderful garden, 15 minutes walk from the center of Merano. With the very friendly host family as well as with the staff you feel immediately familiar and they fulfill every wish. Food is excellent and always fresh. Very good service, without formalities.

The castle is a short walk along the river to the centre of Merano. We went out of season , so we had the indoor pool to ourselves. The dinner is excellent and plenty of choice. We were surprised that there were so few guests staying, as the room rate was reasonable for the type of service provided.

Leaving was like sayiing goodbye to family from this hidden gem in Merano. Our stay easy and fun. Ana Llse, the manager, took great care of us from the moment we arrived. Reserve the Elizabeth Suite with a view of the mountains. Though there were other guests staying there, it never felt crowded. The indoor pool rocked for privacy. Easy...

Located in town not far from the river yet convenient to the Merano sud exit. This Castle is tucked away near the center of town. Although the structure appears old, the amenities are top notch. Our room was a corner room on the 3rd floor and had excellent views of the surrounding mtns. On site parking. An indoor pool, jacuzzis,...

The hotel is within easy walking distance from the center of the city. We were sorry we could only stay 2 days, as there was more to see than we could manage in this short time. The hotel was a little difficult to find, so we were guided there by phone. We found the rooms spacious and clean, the people,...

Our title is perhaps a slight exaggeration , but we first visited Schloss Rundegg at the beginning of the 80's before our (now 31) Daughter was born. In more than 40 years of business & personal trips through Europe we have never stayed at a Hotel that exceeded the standards of Classical Ambience and sheer quality of the infrastructure and...

We stayed at the Castel Rundegg in October last year but as no one has reviewed it since May I’ll include our experience there. We were in Merano to celebrate my partner’s birthday (he’s a lovely Libran) and I spent quite a lot of time in advance poring over the different hotels available on booking.com/hotels.com before finally deciding on Castel...
