Located in the San Marco area near La Fenice Opera House. Access available by water-taxi, but difficult for wheelchairs. This is a smallish hotel over several floors. The entrance, on the ground floor has a small seating area, but all rooms and facilities are above. A lift is available to the 1st & 2nd floor, with stairs to the 3rd...

Great location. Near to St. Mark's but away from crowds. Hotel room was spacious but overall the place is tired- dingy carpeting and hasn't been painted. Staff was friendly and helpful. Buffet was adequate but not as good as hotels we had stayed in in Rome and Florence.

I and my family recently stayed at this beautiful hotel. This is a fantastic property, right on a canal, beautifully kept, and offering great stays for families. The staff was supremely friendly and accommodation - Giovanni made us very comfortable, Enrique was help personified and the rest of the staff amazing as well. The hotel is in the heart of...

Besides the fact that this hotel has zero-understanding, which is very interesting considering the fact that I paid well over 90 Euro a night to stay here. Jonathan (as well as all of the over night staff) are not friendly and very incompetent. I asked for a simple task (to cut a cigar) and postpone one night due to flight...

Dear Guest, Thank you for leaving your feedback. I am really sorry if our night auditors didn’t meet your expectations. We’ re trying to do our best, but sometimes it’s really impossible. The night concierge offered you the possibility to book in advance a water taxi, but you refused the opportunity because of the high cost of this service. When...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
