At least off high-season, this must be one of the best value for money hotels in Venice. It is the second time we stay here, and we will return in the future. Location might be a matter of preference, but we find this hotel perfectly situated. Connection from/to the airport is easy by the orange vaporetto line. Get off at...

We stayed here for three nights in January 2017. We stayed in a superior double, which was spacious and clean with a great shower. Breakfast was good with a wide selection of food to choose from. The main waiter at breakfast was great and nothing was too much trouble. The location is the best thing about this hotel; it's a...

The service was fantastic; the main lady that checked us in was fantastic and the bell boy is a really nice touch! It makes you feel very important! The room was very nice, really fancy and a good size. The bathroom was huge although the shower head was not too great. Mirrors were all a good size, although the mirrors...

We stayed here for two nights in December. The apartment was diagonally across from the hotel. It was on the second floor. It has a nice kitchen, a couch that is a sofa bed, a large king-sized bed, two bathrooms. It was a very nice apartment. However, when you first walk into the building -- on the ground floor --...

Wife and I stayed here for two nights just after New Year’s Eve, and honestly speaking our experience at the hotel did not start off well.. The room we were given had a major leak from the wash basin, and the basin was right at the entrance of the bath room – The wet marbled floor was a major slip...

We spend 4 nights at this hotel in a standard double room. Fast check in, nice staff, nice ambiance. The hotel has a romantic, Venetian look. The room was quiet, small but very clean, nicely decorated (vintage-y 18th century kind of), with all the expected amenities (including free internet), and a bottle of champagne to welcome us (nice touch). Spotless...

Stayed in the apartments adjacent to the main hotel, as we were a family of four. The reception staff were reasonably friendly and helpful. Apartment was comfortable, with all amenities provided including two mini Christmas Panatones as a nice touch (we arrived on Christmas day). The only problem was the shower which did not drain properly. Good location, right in...

Breakfast - Good Staff - Good, Helpful Bedding and sheets clean Beds comfy Bedroom - vacuum cleaner hairdryer ridiculous! Paper thin walls you can hear the neighbours sneeze and do other things! Very disturbing if you with children! Room needs a good vacuum dust everywhere (including air vents very noticeable) and with carpet/fabric on the walls and floor allergies will...

This hotel did not meet my expectations for a four star hotel. At check in we had to sign a statement that we would comply with the hotel's policy that you are not allowed to bring any food or beverages into the room, not even water. The reason given for this policy as being for "health and safety" reasons did...

We had a great stay at this hotel. The best parts were: - Breakfast staff (friendly and made a great cappuccino) - Location (close enough to the action without being smack dab in the middle of everything) - Decor (beautiful room and ambiance, quiet) There is opportunity to improve with the front desk staff, they weren't overly friendly or helpful....

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
