Lovely hotel, 10 min walk away from major sightseeing. Rooms are good and spacious, gives feeling of old venetian culture, breakfast was preety decent, not lavish, ppl at reception were good and service was nice. Would have appreciated an elevator though which is missing, and also price is quite high 250 euros per night. If you need to come from... More

This hotel was wonderful. The location is absolutely perfect - walking distance to everything but in a quieter area not too close to any of the big touristy places. Gorgeous room, comfortable bed, ample minibar. The people who run the hotel couldn't be nicer. I loved Venice and am really glad we stayed here.

Located near the Rialto bridge and the Academia this hotel in Venitian style greets you a warm welcome as soon as you step inside the small entrance. I stayed in one of their appartments on the opposite side of the street. It had two bedrooms, two showers and toilets and a living room. Very nice. Quiet and neat. Breakfast was... More

This charming small hotel is 10 minutes walk from San Marco square and a very convenient 2 minutes from the San Samuele water taxi. Very much a four star hotel. Large comfortable room but only a shower no bath, extremely quiet. Good breakfast and super helpful and friendly staff. We would stay again.

Our room was small but clean, well decorated and comfortable. The staff were really friendly and very helpful. Continental breakfast was very good, especially in the relaxed courtyard. This was our third trip to Venice and we were pleased with the location of Ca Pagan and would certainly go back there.

What a wonderful hotel with the most amazing staff that made our stay spectacular. Lea the hostess was amazing. Honestly she went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. Not often you get such an attentive host. The decor: Looks like something out of the Vatican, the intrinsic detail was spectacular, it really felt like... More

I would recommend this place a million times! We stayed for 3 nights and we absolutely loved it! Cozy and gorgeous decor, 15 min walk distance from the main touristic destinations ( San Marco and Rialto) and the best of all: the staff! Lucio was extremely cordial and attentive to our needs ( we were traveling with a 2yo). Lia... More

The room itself was gorgeous, a bit far from San Marco if you like the hustle and bustle otherwise about 20m from a ferry stop and 5 mins from S.Stefano. The staff were absolutely fantastic recommending a million things to do and places to eat, and they even helped us locate our lost luggage.

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
