Loved every bit of our stay here. Marco was very helpful throughout our stay in Venice. The room was very clean and spacious with a gorgeous balcony. Do however keep in mind it is situated in the residential part of venice so is a walk to main attractions. We however loved it being out of the way. Definitely recommend! Grazie...

This is a lovely B&B, my favourite place so far after 2 and a half months of travelling through Europe. We stayed in room 2, the room and the bathroom were huge. The place was very clean and the balcony absolutely fantastic, it's lovely just sitting out there and watching the boats go by. It took us about 15 minutes...

Our stay with Marco and Franco was wonderful. The B&B feels like you're staying with a friend- is very clean, cozy, and spacious. Bathroom/shower was the nicest we had out of five places we stayed throughout Italy. Only 3 rooms, so it is private and allows you to get plenty of personal attention. Franco greeted us when we arrived and...

We stayed 2 nights and found this B&B in a gret, safe location with locals and it was very comfortable. We missed out on the canal view room but enjoyed the stay. Marco was a great host and was there to provide city maps and local advice. A supermarket is only 5 minutes walk away too.

Excellent b&b! Short walk to the main sights. Bedrooms are huge and spotlessly clean with the added bonus of a balcony overlooking the canal! Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast basic but good. Would stay again.

Stayed here for 2 nights in October 2015, and was extremely pleased with our choice. Location is perfect, (8 min walk from Ospedale water bus stop , and also 10 mins from Rialto bridge, as well as to st marks square. Our hosts Franco and Marco were very helpful, and the room was large, with a large bed and plenty...

I love Venice and this was a real Gem of a find, the balcony was a nice touch to sit out on an evening with a bottle of wine. The apartment is close by a water taxi rank straight to the airport. Also there are quite a few nice restaurants 5- 10 mins away. The B&B was very clean and...

I have been in Casa in Laguna at the end of March 2015. The house is really nice, new and clean. Mr Marco and his father are really friendly and available to provide very useful information about the city. The location is really good. The first day you will probably get lost! we did but it is a nice experience...

Being situated on the Rio di Santa Glustina, you are able to wake upand have coffee and breakfast looking out on to the beautiful canal. The room was clean, the B&B manager was very charming and was always more than happy to help. There is towels and a hair dryer in the bathroom which ideally saves on luggage space. There was...

Marco and Franco are great. They are always available to answer any questions and made our stay very pleasant. The best part about the room is the balcony overlooking the canal. It is spacious and comfortable. We had breakfast there everyday and even brought back pizza to enjoy it at night. The room is amazing too. Very clean and spacious....

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
