In the Castello quarter, the atmosphere of ancient Venice awaits you at the luxurious 4 star Aqua Palace Hotel, a hotel that symbolizes the new Venetian hospitality for those in search of charm, seduction and comfort, in a perfect balance between traditional and modern. With a contemporary touch, the finely furnished rooms and suites interpret the distant past of Marco Polo's Venice, suspended between the west and the east, with soft lighting, fine curtains and special materials. Scalfarotto Palace is home to the passionate work of the Caputo Family, hoteliers for two generations, at your service and ready to give you the perfect welcome to Venice's historic center, where "Aqua" means life, history and culture.

Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.

Just a short walk from the main square hooked away on the canal. Wonderful character and tasteful clean rooms. Great service from reception and breakfast. The breakfast was also lovely. Highly recommend this hotel.

We just stayed 4 nights in a double room. There was no canal view, but we’ve been to Venice many times and knew that this wasn’t actually a bad thing ( the early morning canal activity can be quite loud!) we had a lovely quiet view onto a courtyard. Room was very comfortable,

We stayed in one of the larger suites on the second floor. Gorgeous. I wouldn't worry about the lighting as the curtains can be pulled aside and as the windows are very large you'll have a good natural light setting. I hope it helps!

Is this hotel suitable for children do you have any family rooms?
That hotel didn't mention about child or any facilities for children, but I think this the room is q.big for each travel group, even for a family group. And the location is q.good, not far away to the centre is you going around with children.
