Our first time in Venice, and stayed at the Westin for 2 nights before embarking on a Mediterranean cruise. Obviously very close to St Mark's Square, so easy to get to/from the major tourist attractions. The room we had didn't have much of a view, but was very clean and larger than we were expecting. The public areas are simply...

I was here for a business trip. The best is the bar and the great bartender they have. It was really the best moment of the experience spending an evening there. Rooms are comfortable but nothing special. Anyway location is brilliant and view from the room breathtaking. Food very good.

First the positive - this hotel is in a great location with beautiful public areas. The views over the canal are wonderful. But the rooms we had left a lot to be desired. To get to our rooms we had to walk a long way - including up then down stairs in a narrow corridor. We had to walk past...

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are very pleased you enjoyed our location and our public areas. On the other hand, we’re sorry to hear of your disappointment with the room assigned: this certainly is not how we wish for any of our guests to feel, and understand that this is not the renewing experience our visitors...

This is a legendary hotel on the Grand Canal but in need of a service boost. I was shown to a supposedly de luxe room which faced a wall and consequently no daylight came into my room. Paid (a lot) to be moved to a room with a view - and what a view - the Salute across the canal...

we were made to wait for our room and the hotel did not appear to be busy at all. when we were finally shown to our room, it was a dump! one window was boarded up and the other was open a small way, probably to try and get rid of the smell of the cigar smoke that was lingering...

Perfect location but housekeeping VERY hit and miss. Rooms not made up at all, or made up late afternoon. The management needs an overhaul. Not what I expect from a hotel of this class. I think its sitting back and trading on the fantastic location.

Dear Guest, Thank you for posting your review. By reading your words we are very concerned about all situations described and again apologizes if the "Make a Green Choice Program" seemed not so clear. As a matter of fact you hang over the door the “Greenchoice” form: we would like to underline that by accepting the green choice program the...

Beautiful hotel with the most grand common spaces. The hotel room was so unique. Breathtaking is an understatement. Perfect for couples. Venice, in general, looks like it would be a challenge for families.

We had 3 rooms at the hotel for 5 days. We also booked the dinner for NYE celebrations. The hotel is old and tired. The service is less than average with no effort made to make our stay special. The NYE dinner was very expensive and yet the food was awful, the entertainment average and the restaurant was so cold...

The hotel is classic style. Probably the building is very old but still well maintained. The room & bathroom is small. The staff is very helpful & nice. Nice view & can be reached by water taxi. The location also good for shopping, 5-10 mins walking distance to branded stores

As a regular visitor to the starwood properties of different categories, my family and i were very disappointed by the Europa&Regina. Positive things: >the property itsself >the location >the heavenly bed and the interior of the hotels negative aspects: >rude unmotivated waiter staff at breakfast on all days >extremely rude concierge (the two of them) - not what one is...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
