We stayed 2 nights in the hotel. Upon arrival we were welcomed by the staff and had a small tour of the hotel. The room was very nice and spacious. Separate cloakroom for the suitcases. A bottle of prosecco to welcome us. The staff are very helpful and friendly. We have stayed at room 260, just across from the room...

The hotel is luxurious and very comfortable. The location is excellent, right on San Marco but slightly tucked away so you will never hear any noise or disturbance. Outstanding service. The only negative is the double bed is a joined bed so there is aslight dip in the middle, which can be uncomfortable. However, I would go back any day!

We visited Venice in January 2017 and once again stayed at the Luna Baglioni. This is the 10th time we have visited the property and it remains as amazing as it was the first time we visited. The location, right behind San Marco, is central to everything. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and really care about our comfort and experience...

This was a return trip after a 30 year interval. The hotel felt grand and elegant, with opulent furnishings in our bedroom and a beautiful marbled bathroom. The service was of high standard; our room was spotless throughout our stay and we were well cared for at breakfast. The range of foods provided catered for all tastes.

The big positives are the central location (right in the heart of the San Marco district, perfect for sightseeing and shopping) and the staff, all of whom (with one exception, for which see note of caution below), are professional, efficient and friendly. Our comments and ratings below should be seen in the context of the fact that this is a...

We stayed there for eight nights in late January. Our arrival was less than perfect. The ballroom was being restored and you could barely hear yourself think. Next time I book an expensive hotel I'm gonna find out if there any ongoing major renovations. The ball room was closed where breakfast was normally served. The breakfast buffet was not bad...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
