Stayed in the Hotel Rialto for a few days on a city break to Venice. Staff were hugely friendly. The room was small but suited us for a three nights trip. Storage was plenty and the bathroom stocked with gels and soaps. Fresh towels delivered everyday. Only issue is we were in a room at the back of the hotel...

My wife and I recently stayed at the Hotel Rialto in Venice for our 25th Anniversary. What a great place and location, amazing views of the canal and famous Rialto Bridge and close proximity to all the main attractions. Not a place for the budget conscious traveller but budgets shouldn't matter much when you are in Venice! I must for...

Very nice hotel, comfortable and clean. The room was large, overlooking the Grand Canal and the hustle and bustle below. Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Don't expect anything special for breakfast, it's pretty basic. The hotel was just what we needed though and wold go back again.

The hotel was conveniently located near the Rialto bridge. The staff was very nice and helped us with all the directions we needed in English. The breakfast was also wonderful. Totally enjoyed our stay and would book there again.

We loved the hotel, the staff was very nice and kind. The hotel has a perfect location, just in front Rialto bridge, and near every touristic point. The bar on the side of the hotel is very noisy, our room was on the second floor windows to the back street.

Junior suites were sold out so splashed out on the "honeymoon suite", which was a large and opulently decorated room with a fantastic Murano glass chandelier and coffered ceiling in proper Venetian style. But best of all it had a balcony looking out onto the Rialto bridge and the Grand Canal. Great to just sit and watch the boats coming...

This Hotel is located 30 metres from the Iconic Rialto Bridge across the Grand Canal. Location is superb. 10 Minute walk through the laneways (if you don't stop at the all shops) to St Marks Square and Basilica. Hotel was well set up - usual European small room with adequate ensuite. Breakfast was very well set up with the staff...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
