We've been there already 4 times now, always the weekend before Christmas. Rooms are incredible, try one of the suite with Grand Canal view.. impossible not to fall in love. This time we got a suite in the "new building". Nothing to complain since the suite was fantastic, well organized and with a great Grand Canal view! Location is also...

Perfect enchanted Venice getaway if You want to experience true historical side of luxury. We had a room with view to canal grande which was spectacular! Although door to our room was like little hidden Narnia cupboard mirror, but it all matched perfectly and didn´t disturbed us at all! Will wait to my next trip to Venice and visiting Palazetto...

My girlfriend and I have been there for a weekend and we found this amazing spot in Venice. The Palazzetto has an incredible view on the Grand Canal, right in front of the Guggenheim Museum. It is amazing to have a glass of wine in the terrace just looking at the boat sailing on the canal. The team was very...

I went to Venice to catch the last days of this year's Architecture Biennial - always a marathon and 2 days is never enough - and found a most attractive and comfortable place to stay - the Palazzeto Pisani. It is located close to the Academia Bridge/ Vaparetto stop, right on the right grand canal. The mini adventure is finding...

The staff were extremely helpful and happy to do anything to make our trip memorable. The room was large and plenty of heating to keep us warm (travelled at the end of November). The location is spectacular and the view of the Grand Canal was beautiful. We highly recommend a coffee or wine on the balcony off the guest lounge....

Staying right on the Grand Canal makes it central and within walking distance to most tourist attractions, or close to the water bus stop of Accademia should one wish to venture a bit further. It is also sufficienlty away from the middle of San Marco to steer clear of most crowds, yet right at the starting point of some of...

The Palazetto Pisani typified what is so good about Venice - small enough to be personal, location - ideal yet accessible to all the major attractions. Italian with an added touch of elegance. Dinner was a surprise, being invited to share the main dining room with a large Swiss/Germany family celebration. Felt relaxed and were extremely well looked after by...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
