The hotel is within steps of St. Mark's Square. Everyone from the front desk to the wait staff in the dining room were friendly, knowlegeable and accommodating. Breakfast was included and started the day off on the right foot. The room had a balcony to view the street below but had shutters that kept the sound out at night. I...

We arrived at the Hotel Concordia on New Year's Eve and were shown our room immediately. The location, overlooking St. Marks Square, was perfect. In the evening we enjoyed people watching from our balcony. We had 2 rooms that were clean, comfortable and adorable. The bathrooms were a good size and warm. (None of our other hotels in Italy had...

This is a nice hotel for being in Venice, couple steps from Marco Plaza. My teenager loved the location and the French elegant style. I am giving only 4stars because there is a small elevator, to get there you need to use stairs. No worries... the reception will handle your luggage, but you have to use this stair to get...

From the moment we walked up to the entrance of the hotel to the day we left, it was perfect. The hotel is literally next door to the Basilica and the St. Marcs Square so it is a fantastic location if you plan on seeing any of the above mentioned and taking any tours of the city as most tours...

Hotel itself is a bit old and traditional looking. Room is small, almost couldn't lay out our 2 big pieces of luggage in the room. Staff overall was nice and polite. Yes, it is situated in a perfect location, a few steps away from San Marco, but it's quite a con for us due to noise issue. (Further explanations down...

The location was beyond perfect right next to the square. When we arrived we had a note on our bed with 2 glasses of wine free at the bar as their guest. Just amazing. The staff was helpful, we took their advise on day trips and special cruises. The food at their restaurant for dinner was the best in our...

I can't praise the Hotel Concordia highly enough. We booked three rooms for three nights and we all were really delighted with it and the service we received. The hotel is just off St Mark's Square, we had a water taxi from the airport which dropped us about 50m from the hotel. Since it's right opposite the Basilica, there are...

In terms of location, you will not find a better hotel - this was literally right in the heart of St Mark's square. When you stay here you are staying in the middle of the action! We split our stay between this hotel and another hotel further away (hotel Canal Grande) and I was so pleased with both choices! (this...

Just stayed for a short break in Venice with my sister, Great choice staying at the Concordia. It's a lovely hotel in a fantastic location on the doorstep of St Marks. All the staff are very helpful and friendly and are attentive to all the guests. Hotel Concordia is outstanding. Everyone on the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Our room was their basic two double beds standard, but it had plenty of closet and sitting space and a fully outfitted bath. An excellent and bountiful breakfast buffet can be included in the room rate and adds to the overall convenience of the Concordia. Lunch and...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The rich, multicoloured marble and elegant lines of the St. Mark's Basilica brightened by the sunlight, reflecting on the windows of Hotel Concordia, the only hotel in the city of the Doges directly in St. Mark's Square, beside the Neo-classical See of the patriarch of Venice.A building that has been accommodating Italian and foreign visitors to Venice for more than three centuries. The Beggiato family has been expertly running the hotel over three generations, adding its own tradition since the start of the 20th century when Mr. Tiberio Beggiato turned what was a small guesthouse into a renowned hotel. Ever since, the women of the Beggiato family have kept the family tradition alive, proficiently merging customs and innovation, tending to the premises as they tend to their homes. ... more   less
