San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

The pictures can speak.it gives you that feeling that it will collapse in that specific moment. Noises are coming from the canal at 6 am , due to the 18th century windows. The staff is ok , but still long way till a decent customer service.it is dirty, dated and wrong promoted

I have mixed feelings of this hotel. Its in a great location and the main hotel is cosy and of a high standard. I had booked an annexed room which isn't in the main hotel but around the corner. This room was awful, it was very outdated (old hard sinking bed, dingy bathroom and

For an Italian 3 star hotel it had perfect cleanliness and was a good quality room. Very nice interior design. Amazing location. The lift, which is a rare thing in Venice, is a pleasant addition when you've been walking around with luggage. We stayed one night in another hotel -

The rooms (I was in the main building) is very small, looks dirty and the beds is hard as stone. The staff is 2/3 rude and unhelpful, just stressed and has no charisma. The first room we was in was on the first floor, which was horrible right next to the breakfast area. It is

I suggest bus from airport to Venice, and then water bus to the hotel.

We got a roundtrip ticket on the water bus (not taxi) when we got into Venice. The water bus picks up at the big transportation port near Piazza San Marco. I forgot the cost but it wasn't very expensive. It makes a few stops around the city before heading to the airport. You can check out the schedule on the water bus website. Look for Venice ACTV Vaporetto.

"Request a bigger Bigger room if sharing"
"The lift is extremely slow so if you need to use it don't stay on top floor. The rooms at back are quiet but don't have much of a view"
"My rating of terrible for the room rating is purely down to the mattresses!"
"One of the reasons I chose this room was that it had a lift, I would recommend communicating with the hotel if this is important to you."
"Hay muchos tramos de escaleras."
