This hotel helped to make our trip extra special. The room was very nice and well appointed, with great linens and towels. It was located by the high-end shopping area. We were able to enjoy the rooftop terrace with our friends to have a bottle of wine one of the evenings we were there before heading out to dinner. This...

Fabulous staff - professional and courteous. Easy access by water taxi. Horrible intermittent WiFi service even though it's free. Excellent location with easy access to sights. Old charm; not a modern space.

Stayed here for a birthday celebration and this hotel didn't disappoint. The staff were courteous and professional - a joy in this age of sloppiness. Our rooms were spacious and clean and we were fortunate enough to have a canal view. The breakfast was sublime! The best we've ever had in Italy, my husband was very impressed. We will definitely...

We enjoyed the Saturnia because of its location and the employees. It is within walking distance of many of the Venice attractions. When Air France cancelled our flights (once again), they worked above and beyond their normal responsibilites to help us confirm our new flight, and have the water taxi ready at the right time. Luca and Giovanni were more...

After staying at the Saturnia 3 years ago through Princess Cruise Line, we wanted to stay longer and contacted them directly. We were given confirmed reservations before they were even available online. The entire staff at the Saturnia has been most kind and helpful ( Greta-Zoe advised us at lenght on water taxis). We requested our previous room and it was...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
