My husband and i stayed at Hotel Bucintoro last year. I had written a review about it before but not on trip advisor. I have to say that i am so glad that we chose to stay at this hotel during our visit to Venice. The hotel is perfectly located. It is just a short enjoyable walk away from St...

My wife and I have just come back from Venice. We took a long time to choose our hotel and this certainly paid off. The location of Hotel Bucintoro is just right! Not too far away from St Mark's square but a couple of bridges away from the very busy stretch. The room was clean and modern and had fabulous...

Our vacation to Northern Italy was capped off by a wonderfully romantic and enjoyable stay in the Hotel Bucintoro. Venice is without a doubt one of the most wonderful of all cities to visit in Italy, and, in our opinion, there is no better place from which to center your visit than the Bucintoro. The Hotel Bucintoro is a hidden...

During our short stay (2 nights) we had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Bucintoro in the centre of Venice. Everything from the helpful service to the beautiful rooms made our stay very special along with possibly one of the best hotel views from our window across to St Marks. Although centrally located right on the harbor it was...

We were pleasantly surprised by the quality accomodations at The Bucintoro Hotel - it turned out to be the perfect hotel for us! We had two rooms, both newly decorated with picturesque views of the Venetian waterways. It was an easy and scenic walk to Piazza San Marco and excellent restaurants. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We enjoyed...

We absolutely loved the Hotel Bucintoro and would only stay there again. The hotel itself is absolutely beautifully decorated with a fantastic location. The room was very well appointed with gorgeous hard wood floors throughout. It was extremely clean and the room view of the grand canal was great. The best part was that being a small hotel the staff...

My Husband and I have just returned from a wonderful 4 day stay at the at the Buccintoro Hotel for our first wedding anniversary. We booked the Hotel mainly because of the View. Our room cost about 220 a night and the same view in the metropole or Danielli would run you 600 euro a night The location is perfect,...

What I liked most was the the style of the hotel (modern - not the typical venecian tourist style) and of course the wonderful view. The view is simply fantastic!

Quiet and comfortable place with extremely kind staff. They were always ready to help with very usefull local advices. We had a room on a corner with view on both the laguna and the town : Wonderfull. The hotel is about 5-10 min walk from San Marco and very close to the non-touristy Venice (Via Garibaldi) where the real good...

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
