Room was nice but noisy because of the street noises. Breakfast was small and with a few options but the breakfast room was nice. Location was perfect just 2 minutes to San Marco. If there wasn't any sound from the street at night there. It was perfect for me. Like I said breakfast options were limited but I were expecting...

My husband and I visited Venice for our Wedding Anniversary. We found the hotel quite easily. Its so near to St Marks square. When we booked in the gentleman proceeded to take us outside and down the street ! Thought this was a bit strange but he took us to an apartment. The only problem we had was the key ,we struggled...

Unfortunately it rained the whole time we were in Venice. (Early February) When going back to the hotel, the rooms were very cold as the hater/aircon unit above the door is very old and what can only be described as not very warm air blowing out. Nothing worse when you have been out all day sightseeing and getting back to...

Dear Guest, as you wrote it rained for few days and even if we called the electrician he could not go on the roof to fix the antenna. Regarding the heating machine, they both depends on a central machine, and as you noticed the one in the bathroom was ok, but we found the one in your room set on...

Excellent value for money, right in the centre of Venice - could not get a better location, St Mark square just a few steps away! Room was lovely, nice view out of window and comfy bed, very clean and nice en suite. Not allowed to bring food/drink into the rooms which is a bit unfair with regards to drink- it's...

Dear Guest, we put any sign because before you nobody tried to stick a croissant in the machine for toasted bread. It was out of our imagination. Now we know and we put a sign. The girls in the breakfast room was not swearing, they were just afraid of fire from the machine because it was the first time they...

Venice isn't a large island to explore. When we have previously visited we have stayed further out, but given that we were in Venice for New Year's Eve we wanted to be in the centre. You couldn't ask for a better location. The room and bathroom was quite spacious by Italian standard. Well kept and very clean. Despite the location...

We loved Hotel Orion! The staff was so friendly and helpful. They even offered to make us breakfast early the morning we left since it wouldn't be open yet. The breakfast was great, the staff was wonderful and the room was clean and quaint. The location is great too- right in the middle of everything.

Taking into account that location is Venice, this hotel go rating very good from me. It was difficult to find this one when wondering the streets, eventually found it and it was a good choice. Nice hotel with pretty central location in Venice. Room was clean, breakfast was ok. Nothing to complain, could use this again if travelling to Venice.

The room was a good size and had everything we needed. Wifi worked great. Location was close to everything! Breakfast room was great, nice variety and good food and coffee. The only drawback was that we were advised not to store food in our room refrigerator or eat in our room.

Me and my husband stayed at this hotel for our one year wedding anniversary. We stayed for a total of three nights and we had no problems at all! It was in a great location and everything in the hotel was nice and clean. The staff was awesome and very helpful. Breakfast was light, but it was very good! We...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
