Very grateful we stayed in this hotel. Was a 30 minute walk from the train station and we did some serious shopping on the way. My credit card was more tired than my feet by the time we arrived. The room was comfortable and very Italian. We got a two twin bed room and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom...

We stayed here in June. Room was dark but was fine. I was disappointed they charged for breakfast considering it was included in my original booking. I showed them this and they said it was an error with their computer. One of the reasons we booked this hotel as it included breakfast. The day I left they emailed me to...

We stayed at this hotel for three nights in late October. The trick to finding the hotel is to leave the square by the passage way containing the public toilets. If they are on your right go straight down, turn right, and follow the next passage around past the bar and there it is! Yes, the bar, it was noisy,...

The hotel was easy to find with instructions given here earlier by someone else, you better learn them by hart to get there. It took us less than five minutes to walk from the Rialto waterbus pier. The location is excellent. We stayed there for four nights in late October, room and bathroom were very clean. For unknown reasons we...

This hotel is like a five minute walk from the famous Rialto bridge. It is however a challenge to find the hotel among the narrow and busy streets. The hotel is very small and old as well. And it doesn't have lift but we felt that our room was nice. There is a bar on one side of the hotel...

Our stay started poorly with an officious, rude unhelpful front desk staff member. Was exacerbated by being taken to a dark dank room that looked more like a prison cell than a hotel room. We have stayed in Venice 6 times before and never had such poor accommodation. On top of everything its not cheap, well the price isn't the...

Stayed two nights and were very disappointed with Room 30! No storage for suitcases, shower was so tight that it was barely functional and trendy nightspot below us was noisy until 2 am. Breakfast was good if you got there early but didn't replenish for later guests. No lift. Hard to find. Won't go back.

Clean, great location. Room was plain but adequate. Front desk guys were always helpful. Breakfast didn't appeal to us, but maybe it would to others. Check out the bar/restaurant right next door for drinks and/or dinner or snack. Good food, jazz.

We stayed here for three nights and had a pleasant stay. We had room 26 which was above the breakfast room two floors up. Our room was spacious, with a decent sized bathroom. Spotlessly clean. This must be a family room as it had two singles ( making a double) and another single in the corner. Air con worked fine...

Ideally located hotel for a short break in Venice. Just Get the Alilaguna Linea Arancio (Orange Line) water bus from the Airport to Rialto and the Hotel is located just a couple of minutes walk away. Print off the free directions provided on the hotel website and you'll find it quite easily. Your'e then well located to just wander around...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
