San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

I have just spent 3 nights at this hotel in Venice with my partner and I have to say I would not recommend it. Our room was really quite dirty; mould and damp all over the bathroom walls and the shower curtains are in need of a change as they have mildew on them. The room

The hotel was hard to find at first especially in the dark late in the evening! But after walking along many little windy streets and over several canals, we eventually found it. Once found it was a great little place, very well located, within walking distance to the San Marco

I stayed here for 3 nights, from November 16 until November 19. When I got into the room and saw the lack of the radiator, I said that they had a source of heat overnight. There was a radiator in the bathroom, so I left the door to the open bathroom, but it did not work. I saw

I'm so sorry, but when we were there, the weather was so pleasant and we didn't realize if there was or not.

How do I get from the airport to the hotel? thanks
After arriving at the airport, we took a bus to the closest point we could get to in Venice. Then we walked. There was a bus ticket station at the airport which was easy to use (they spoke English and pointed us in the right direction). However, on our return to the airport we took the vaporetto (water bus). Not sure which stop was closest to the hotel but it was a very short walk (much shorter than the bus). Water taxis are very expensive and the vaporetto is easy to use once you realize it will get you close to where you need to be.There is a bit of a walk to the vaporetto location at the airport. But if you're going to Venice you need to be prepared to walk anyway!
