This hotel is in a great location beside bus station and Saint Lucia train station. You can get water bus just outside the train station Comfortable clean rooms. There is shared bathrooms but knew this beforehand. It's fine. They perfect and clean. Room is bit pricey but its a reasonable price for staying on venice island. Breakfast was great every...

We stayed for a night. Hotels are so expensive in Venice, and the price is right here. It's very well located to the train station which is key in Venice-the vapaerettos can be very crowded and the bridges make suitcases difficult. Only complaint is it's on a very loud street-we could hear drunken singing well past midnight. We didn't eat...

Hotel Guerrini was in a great location but it was not easy to find. They tell you to look for a red arch as you walk down a main street. I was looking for something like the Mac Donalds Arch or a stand alone arch. It turned out that it was an opening in a wall to an alleyway that...

NO HUMAN TOUCH. When I travel, I look for HUMAN EXPERIENCES. My mom had a health emergency, had to be hospitalized in another city (we did not make it to Venice and had to get out of the train before to go to a hospital). I informed the hotel in advance (as soon as I could) that we would not...

Pros: Good location as everyone says, right next to the train station if you have an early train or if you have a lot of luggage. No bridges to walk across, and very central to many tourist sites Cons: Beds were old and uncomfortable (felt very sunken in the middle), no lifts if you have a lot of luggage (it...

Stayed for one night as part of a longer trip around Italy, and although it was reasonably expensive compared to other places we stayed, the location was spot-on. It was a mere few minutes walk from the train station and the main street of Lista di Spagna. Better still though, was how it was located down a small street which...

The title says it all. The hotel is located in a quiet lane accessed from a busy street. It is approximately ten and eight minutes from bus station and train station respectively. The hotel is clean and run by a very friendly reception staff.

We were looking for something close to the centre and train station for a good price and found this little gem. It's a super cute hotel in a great location, well maintained, super friendly staff and with a great view facing the busy square around the corner. Couldn't ask for anything more- really pleasant stay!

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
