I was happy with our hotel choice for our anniversary trip, staff were very friendly and helpful despite my poor Italian. The room we had was nice but I expected it to be a tad larger however that is a small compliant, I would certainly stay at the hotel again and recommend it to family and friends

Our stay in Venice was not the first, but the first time at CaPisani Hotel. The location of the Hotel is ideal, you can reach everything in a short time. The hotel itself is an absolute highlight. The rooms are very tastefully decorated(design hotel). Very friendly Staff. The breakfast is outstanding. we hope to be back soon again-

This is the third time we've stayed at the Ca' Pisani in November. It is good value, in Venetian terms, for the size of room, amenities and breakfast. They even managed to provide too much free Prosecco to our room! (Though that was because we drank quite a lot elsewhere as well - do try Osteria al Squero on the...

Our 3rd time in Venice, by far the best hotel, rooms and bathroom are spacious, we love the art deco elements, eye for details, next to Academia bridge and still quiet surroundings. Definitely good value for money.

Room was stuck on 25c. Front desk said there was nothing that they could do. It was 17c outside. Needed to keep window open to remain comfortable. Problem with that was that we kept on getting bit by bugs......for three nights. Also because we needed the window open, we were stuck listening to construction in the courtyard/next door. Just not...

dear Jonathan S, thank you for your review and the time you dedicated in writing it. when you stayed here, it was a quite unsual weather in town because temperatures were higher than what happened in that same period in the past 15 years. so, the heating was not on yet, but at the same time the air conditioning was...

The staff was very great, the location of the hotel is perfect, for walking to any parts of Venice, and the Vaporetto station Academia und Zattere is only 2 minutes walking distance from the hotel. Also the architecture oft the hotel ist perfect-old venetian style with modern architecture combined. We are looking forward to the next visit in autumn 2017.

This hotel is just great. Quality bed, bathroom with balneo, breakfast is very good, fruit juices, fresh fruit, raw honey, bacon & eggs, speck, choice of bread for all tastes, home made pastries, and last but not least excellent croissants, crispy outside and soft inside.

I stayed at this hotel about thirteen years ago, and then again last week, and was surprised, as I often am, by the extent to which tastes and styles change over a decade or so. Which is why, of course, hotels (just like our wardrobes) must be renewed constantly. Whilst this hotel was once cutting edge in terms of design...

dear abager, thank you for the time dedicated in writing the review and also - of course - for staying again with us after quite a few years: we are honored. I am sorry you found the hotel dated: the atmosphere is Art Deco, so pieces placed in the rooms and common areas are mostly from the Thirties and Forties,...

We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Service was friendly and professional. The breakfasts are lovely with a great selection of choices. The located in a great area - conveniently placed for the main sights yet off the main tourist drag.

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
