Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The location is amazing, also the view of the rooms were great. But that is all I can say. Its very basic room.
There is no reception for this hotel, but you need to go to the next door (grand canal hotel) for check in and for the keys.
I do understand the buildings there in Venice are old, but there should be some ways for improvements. The door in the room with the shared bathroom was not properly closing (touching the floor when opening and closing) so hard to move and lock.

The communication through hotel booking site is not very reliable, the messages are not read properly, better to call them if there is any issue. Our rooms were cancelled they said, when we arrived, it was due to credit card issue, which should not be. Luckily the rooms were still available so we were able to book again, but it could be worse than that.

This hotel could best be compared to a hostel. The builders were in leaving grit and dust outside the rooms. Having said this although the room was grim it had clean sheets and towels and before we went we knew it was cheap and was only going to be a base. Having had a fantastic holiday and the breakfast being ok and setting us up for the day our plan worked fine. I wouldn’t recommend this hostel and will definitely dig a bit deeper and pay a bit more for Accomodation next time. You defo get what you pay for.
As a positive the hostel is central for all transport.

When staying in a 2 star or less or a hostel you expect 2 things.
1. is it clean
2. are there bugs

Hotel Airone was Clean and there were no Bugs The location was FANTASTIC in the beautiful Santa Croce Neighbourhood.

Breakfast looked decent but I didn't have it so I can't say much else about that.

The staff was pretty great and they let us leave our luggage for 9 hours after checkout while we waited for our ship and wandered Venice.

Coffee Machine had good coffee for 1 Euro too

Sure, the location is nice but not worth getting bitten by bed bugs and risking taking them home with you. My mother and I were bitten all over the body by bed bugs and when we notified the reception, they did not seemed surprised, and said they could not reimburse us. It turned our stay in Venice into a VERY stressful ordeal, as we had to look for a launder mat and wash and dry everything we could the same day we had to fly out of Venice. This made the whole trip way more expensive (8 euros per washer and dryer, each, plus detergent, etc.). We also had to buy ointments and, honestly, just be extremely stressed out and uncomfortable due to the severity and the crazy amount of the bites. DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL. I wish I remembered what room we were in, but mostly I am trying to forget.

The experience I had when I reached the Airone Hotel about noon on Oct.22/13, is something I have never had any like it during my entire life of traveling in many, many countries. I was told "My reservation is cancelled and they are fully booked", of course without me. The reason is that the Hotel had a problem with my credit card. I did not understand that, because I have used the card in Italy just in the previous days and I did not had any problem with it and still I do not have any problem with it. I got the Hotel thru Hotels.com and I got my confirmation number two times.
Airone Hotel, which I appreciated it very much, found me a room in the nearby Hotel Gardena. Still somebody, the Airone Hotel or Hotels.com should be accountable for this error.

Well you get for what you've paid for and sometimes even less. Luckily it was only for one night. Checked in next door at Canal hotel (which seemed like a better place to stay). At first experience the staff seemed well informative and receptive by charging us 4 Euro for a map. At least they were accommodating in letting us leave some of our luggage in the lobby (space permitting). We were informed of breakfast price of 5 Euro in the dining room (be sure to ask which dining room because we found out the next day after breakfast that Hotel Airone has its own dinning room with breakfast at 5 Euro and 10 Euro in Canal Hotel). The problem was not the price but it was the way the information was given. There was no clear indication that there was a dining room in Hotel Airone but it was the guests responsibility to ask about it. How can the guest know if the reception doesn't inform?
We got 2 rooms and it was spacious enough. One of the rooms was right near the stairs and a view of the street and the river below, no complaint about that, but the toilet blocked up right away after using it. (luckily there was a toilet right outside across the room). Another room was in the back. It was quite large with a tiny washroom and no view of anything except walls of other buildings. We didn't mind it and we had the window opened but right when we were about to go to sleep there was a great stench coming through the window. At first we thought some sewage pipes had exploded. We shut the window and opened the room's door and tried to fan out the odor.
Looking back it was a funny experience but in that moment the only thing to look forward to was our trip the next day and getting as far away as possible from Hotel Airone, Venice.

I honestly have nothing good to say about this hotel other than it's close proximate to the train station.

1) There isn't a reception (you check in and out at a hotel down the street)
2) The bedrooms do not all have bathrooms (we we're promised "bathroom facilities" by this they mean shared bathroom with a single shower)
3) The breakfast is disgusting unless you find sharing a meal with pigeons and bugs
pleasant
4) The airconditioner was a water generated pipe that while cooling the room infested it with mosquitos (we both woke up covered in bites)
5) Charged for wifi that didn't even work

Just please do not stay here unless you are only looking for a functional bed

I booked this hotel and slept there 3 nights with my family. I booked it for the price that was very interesting for a family of 4, considering that is Venice! Perfect position, close to the train station and to the vaporetti station (important point if you are travelling with your children that are always tired of walking). The room was spacious and clean with a simple but essential bathroom. The view was not very nice , a little court but the positive thing it is that there was no noise at all! Also the breakfast was essential in realty, they could improve it, but finally you have all what you need for only €5.00 per person. If you desire something more luxury, don’t choose this hotel. But I was looking for something easy and comfortable and that’s what I Had.

Take the bus to Piazzale Roma (about 8 euros, one way). From there it’s a close walk— you will have to drag your luggage up/down one or two staircase bridges, but everybody does it!

Yes, but its not free (neither is breakfast). The cost 1 euro per hour. My advice is to stay at Hotel Tivoli instead.

Hello! Hotel Airone does not have a lift and there is in fact a steep flight of stairs to get to the main floor of the hotel. Hotel Airone is across the Grand Canal from Santa Lucia. No bus is necessary and, besides, there are no bus lines available to get you from Santa Lucia to the Hotel. Therefore you must walk from the train station, cross the Grand Canal at Scalzi Bridge and walk some 200 meters again to get to the hotel.
