Albergo Marin is your cozy hotel in Venice, close to the train station S.Lucia and a couple of steps far from the Grand Canal. We offer to our guest 19 nice rooms, all ensuite but one (cheaper), with air conditioning, safe, satellite tv, SKY tv with more than 600 free channels, and all kind of comfort you can get from upper level Venice hotels, but at a right price. We also have some superior double and triple rooms with turkish (Steam) bathroom, where you can enjoy a complete and charmant relax. In the morning we serve breakfast in our breakfast hall: we do supply salty and sweety flavours, hot and cold products (try our scrambled eggs with bacon i.e.), gluten free options on request. Free Wifi is anywhere, in your room, at the bar, in the lobby, even outside, where our external bar tables lie. All the guests can access our bar, where it is possible to enjoy a glass of wine, a good spritz, soft drinks and much more.

I stayed here with my husband back in September. We booked one of the newer Comfort Rooms which were down an alleyway a stones throw from the main building. We were late arriving thanks to train delays, then got hopelessly lost trying to find the hotel from the railway station (Google maps only works sporadically in Venice) but finally arrived to a warm welcome and were so pleased to get to our room. The room was newly refurbished and had a nice modern bathroom with shower, sink, toilet and bidet and all spotlessly clean. We had a lovely peaceful night’s sleep followed by breakfast in the main hotel which was mainly buffet style although scrambled eggs and drinks were brought to the table by a lovely friendly lady (sorry we didn’t catch her name). On our first morning in Venice we decided to walk down the alleyway away from the hotel and found ourselves at the Grand Canal and directly opposite the railway station! Santa Croque itself is a lovely area and not quite as busy as the San Polo and San Marco areas but within easy walking distance of Rialto Bridge and St Mark’s Square. If we are ever in Venice again we will be back. Thank you for some lovely memories 😊

Giacomo, Michela and the entire team is amazing! Albergo Marin is in the perfect location and close to the train station. We were there in a quick 10 minute walk! I had previously emailed Giacomo to ask him for a recommendation for dinner and he even booked it for us. Breakfast was amazing! I'm gluten free and dairy free and they had the best gluten free croissants and bread at our table for me and regular break for my partner. Non-dairy options were also available so that I could enjoy their amazing coffee with soy milk. Albergo Marin keep doing what you're doing! Customer service, hospitality , rooms and breakfast #1 in Venice! We thank you and we'll be back!

Good location for starters. 10 minute walk from the Santa Lucia train station or the coach station terminus. Just one bridge to navigate - that’s about as good as it gets in Venice. Secondly, the hotel is comfortable, clean, really good breakfast and reasonably priced. It’s in a quiet location, but nicely placed for getting places. Really nice stay.

Our experience at Albergo Marin was very pleasant. When we arrived, Giacomo welcomed us and offered helpful suggestions of where to eat and what to visit. Other staff were also friendly and helpful. Our room was in the annex that was a short walk away, maybe half a block. I had asked for a quiet room which it was, and it was newly renovated and very clean. We were asked what time we wanted breakfast, and a table was ready for us. We enjoyed a choice of meats, cheese and bread, as well as eggs and bacon and cappuccino. It was a great way to start the day. All in all, I would say this is much better than a one-star hotel.

Like others have said, I don’t understand the five star reviews. We stayed 3 nights and had to have cold showers for the first 2 nights - there was an issue with the hot water system which took a couple of days to fix. Our apartment (385) had a strong mould/damp smell and there was no internal phone to call reception so had to walk to reception in the rain to alert anyone about the issues. The staff and breakfast were nice so that was a positive. If you are going to stay in this beautiful city, I’d suggest somewhere else.

Dear Sir, We are very sorry to read your feedback. First of all we do apologize for the water issue which was promptly solved, unfortunately it is not always easy to fix things real time and we had to order one piece which arrived in 24 hours though. Then, you did not stay at the hotel but at another location, a small BRAND NEW!!! mini apartment placed in the surrounding, which is very nice and cozy and cannot be evaluated with 2/5 star ratings. I am sorry but the apartment deserves 5/5, the only problem you suffered for the hot water coming and going, but your feedback is not correct. Regards Giacomo & Staff

Don’t really understand the 5 star reviews. Location was pretty good: close to the Venice train station. Building was quaint and had some Old World charm. Breakfast was very nice and staff was friendly and attentive. However, there were issues with rooms we booked. Beds were okay but a little lumpy. No a/c although temperatures were warm. We opened the windows but only one fly/mosquito screen worked; the other was torn and wouldn’t close. A/c unit was not working but had noticeable mold accumulation. In bathroom, although it was clean and functioned properly for the most part, the fan vent was clogged full with dust and probably hadn’t been cleaned for years. This place was okay for an overnight stay but would not recommend for any longer stays.

Dear Sir, Thank you so much for the time you spent to give us another feedback after the one you already left before this. We will surely take into account your recommendations to improve, just I do not agree with the consideration about a/c as you came in late October and there was no need to use a/c l, it could have been enough to switch the radiators off and open the window. If there was one broken screen (it is a shame because they have all been fixed recently) there were two windows in each of the rooms you stayed in. Regards Giacomo & Staff

A quaint older hotel that has had some recent modernization (en suite bathrooms, AC, WiFi), on a very quiet side street just off the Piazzale Roma. Super convenient location and away from the bustle. Our room was a bit plain, but comfortable and fine for two people. The breakfast was lovely, and there were a couple of very good neighborhood restaurants very close by. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant.

Perfect quirky little hotel in a quiet spot away from the mayhem. Took us a bit to find it from the train station but once we did we loved the location. I don’t know if it’s possible but a sign by the little red fire hydrant across from the train station for the pass thru would be super helpful ! Staff were so pleasant and helpful, lots of good restaurants close and the breakfast at the hotel was probably the best we have had in our stay in Italy and Greece so far. Following the arrows was easy enough to find your way to Rialto Bridge and St Marks, so much fun to wind your way thru the back streets. I don’t know how hotels are rated but this place deserves more than 1 star ??? I would not hesitate to stay again or recommend.

Location, staff, breakfast, room all excellent. Some nice touches like them waiting up for us when we arrived at 1am, very much appreciated. Inexpensive by Venice standards. convenient for water bus, water taxis and gondolas. Plenty of nearby restaurants.
