Hotel in great location. Staff nice and helpful. Buffet breakfast is good. Staff at breakfast do not appear so happy when you walk in, however continually topping food up. The breakfast smells amazing at 7:15am in your room - buffet is from 7:30am. We were on the top floor. Room presented clean. Lovely high ceilings. New bathroom and huge bath which was LOVELY! Hot tip - (Red is cold Blue is hot) the dial is right in the middle so when bending over be mindful or you may end up being scalded or freezing! The floor will end up soaked, and the bath mat absolutely drenched. We had 2Adults 2 children. The bedding was just a whole heap of beds/mattress spread across the whole room. (3 singles and 1 pull out single) NOT comfortable at all. Felt like you were sleeping on the ground. The last bed was egg shell foam on top of a board. Pillows were like rocks. Asked for more pillows and they were just as hard. I chose to not use them after the first night as my neck was sore the next day. Definitely difficult to get a great nights sleep. Again, great location. Walking distance to St Marks Square. Wonderful little restaurants a few minutes walk away, one right by a laundromat and hairdressers. I had a blowdry at the hairdresser while my husband did some laundry then we went to dinner right next door. On departure staff are able to organise a taxi for you. It cost 100€ For this service inc Taxi ride to train station was (20mins) - Staff member will carry your bags to pick up location, and load onto the taxi. Wifi works well.

Now I wouldn’t have normally booked this type of hotel but it was recommended to me by a friend.
However the location was good, breakfast has a pretty good selection so you should be able to find something you like and there is more than enough to fill you up.
The staff are very friendly and more than happy to help you out. I got them to order flowers, a cake and bubbles for my wife’s birthday. We had them organising trips.
I did notice that there were hotel rooms directly off the breakfast room which I personally wouldn’t want to stay in (200-205 if I remember correctly). The only thing that’s not positive about my stay was the aircon in my room (402), it only blew out hot air. If you turned it off and opened the windows, the mosquitoes would come in, if you turn off the aircon there is a terrible noise coming from its vicinity. Your choices are hot and quiet, warm and noisy or cool and bitten to death. However I never raised this with the hotel so I only have myself to blame, as I’m sure they would have rectified the issue had I said something.
The wifi worked well and if I were to return to Venice I would definitely consider staying here again.

A great hotel very nicely located close to St Marks Square. Very professional front of house and really nice rooms. However the breakfast cafeteria was totally inadequately staffed by the hotel manager at peak times. For instance breakfast time!!! The girls on duty worked very hard but simply could not keep up with demand. There were always tables left uncleared and always a long wait until you were served. On the final day there was only one cleared table and after a 15 - 20 minute wait they had still not even taken our room number to start to prepare our breakfast. As previous the girls were working as hard as they could, this a management issue because they failed to put adequate staff on to service the cafeteria at breakfast time.

Such a shame to spoil a great hotel with poor management decisions. My advise if you stay here, bring your own sandwiches for breakfast!!!!

My partner and I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in mid August. Venice was empty so we got a lowered price. The room itself was very nice, and bathroom as well. It was clean and large with lots of furniture and pretty decors.
One thing to note is that the air conditioning aims directly into the bed, which can be a little difficult if you’re a light speaker like me.
We paid €10 extra per day to have our breakfast (included) served on the terrace. Given there is no buffet you need to pick the time and food you would like in advance. On the second day our booking was forgotten and we waited half an hour to get our breakfast. The options are alright, but no fruits are ok the menu. The hotel and service are really great, the location was extremely central which was a major plus, the only thing that could be improved is maybe the breakfast but with covid I understand that they’re doing the best they can to serve this. Overall I would come again and recommend.

We had booked a package deal.through our local travel agent.
After a long journey we were a bit disappointed in the small room we were allocated even though we were offered another room off the main lobby the following morning, which we declined as it would be too noisy. That said, the allocated room was clean and had all the necessary amenities for a short stay.
The hotel itself is quaint and comfortable, with an elevator. The staff are particularly nice and helpful and the breakfast was lovely. They also provided us with a breakfast bag for our early morning departure
You will struggle to find a better location in Venice, Quiet and peaceful but within 10 minutes' walk of St Mark's Square. There is a small square with restaurants a few minutes away too.
Overall a great stay, but if you book a package deal, expect a simpler room than shown on website

we made reservation far in advance and we booked a very nice room(as shown on picture). When we arrived, we where offered in a sidehouse a room, where you had the feeling, you or your luggage will fit in. Kind of cellarroom, no windows. You had to have all the time light on. we denied, then they offered us a small room in third floor(atticroom), kind of, where you had Hotelpersonal living in, in earlier days. You had to climb up from second floor to third by small steps, not so easy for an older couple. we accepted, even if that was not the room which was shown on reservation. For a 4 star hotel, here was not even cafe/teapot or electric cettle. We had to ask for. Like i said at the beginning, you have to watch out, that you get that, wat you have booked.

As stated in the other reviews, the location is great. The breakfast and staff are fine. But we were put in room 307, which is basically a closet with a bed. The bathroom door cannot open all the way. There’s no room. Only one if us could be up at a given time to move around the narrow perimeter surrounding the bed.
The reservation was made by a family member through a travel agent so maybe the room was very inexpensive- I don’t know. But it was simply too small to rent as a double. Some of the other rooms our group had were fine in terms of space.

We booked directly from the hotel and were located in an annex of the main building named Palazzo Conti Querini, when the commercial pictures on the web sites and emails refer to the main building. Our room was a ‘’classic room with canal view’’, the canal view is ridiculous and gives access mostly to a big frequented and noisy place. We arrived in the middle of the afternoon and some garbage bags were still stored in the tiny ‘’lobby’’ of the ‘’Palazzo’’ ( pictures). The ‘’Palazzo’’ and the room are dated, the room 608 is small and is not soundproofed with the other rooms. The furniture is very basic even if the bed is quite good. The bathroom is also dated and takes a big place of the room, there is no cold water pressure at the washbasin tap. The breakfast was miserable and is also taken in a small room in the annex with limited choice of meals (pictures), nothing to do with the pictures taken from the main building breakfast room. Only one type of american coffee is available, no capuccino, expresso, … in an italian 4 stars hotel!!! The unique positive thing was they accepted to keep our luggage before arrival and after departure times.
An advise could be to not book directly from the Hotel, this will give a larger audience to your hotel review and perhaps will you be preferably hosted in the main building
The problem is not that this type of hotel exists, but is that the advertising and the price are based on what is offered in the main building

Having travelled and stayed at better star rating hotels around the world, I can honestly say that this is by no means a 4-star hotel. The exterior of the hotel gives you an impression of splendour awaiting within, but sadly that is just a façade. The interior is old and tatty with unfriendly reception staff, and doesn’t have the Venetian charm mentioned by others.

My husband booked this holiday as a special treat for my birthday. We booked through a travel specialist for 3-night trip to Venice and they chose the Hotel Ca' dei Conti, and we also booked our transfers too. I was so excited about going to Venice.

The transfers with the water taxis through Kompas Italy were prompt, friendly and highly professional.

The disappointment started as soon as we arrived at the Hotel Ca' dei Conti, the reception staff were not friendly or welcoming, and seeing the rooms said it all for us.
We were originally going to pay for an upgrade to a canal view but when we saw the room no way was that going to happen it was tiny and worn. If we hadn’t already paid for the hotel in advance, we would have not stayed here. If you want a bed for the night and to be close to attractions this is a hotel for you.

We settled for the room we were originally allocated and saved £90. The room 103 on the ground floor in the reception area was tired, tatty, and dirty. The carpet was fusty so the whole room had a mouldy fusty smell and dusty. The only clean things about the room were the bathroom and the sheets on the bed. I have never stayed at a hotel where you breathed in dust and the carpet was damp underfoot. The bathroom door was hard to open and close and had to be banged shut and shoulder pushed open. The thermostat in the room did not work so it was warmer outside than it was in the room. Thankfully we were left a duvet in the cupboard which we used. After reading reviews about breakfast, we skipped it and found some great places nearby.

Also, what is it with this hotel, it may have so called 18th Century charm, but this is the 21st century where people use credit cards, but this hotel insists on cash for payments of taxes etc.

The reception staff were not friendly, and they are meant to be the face of the hotel. We found them to be unprofessional. It felt like they were doing us a favour to allow us to stay there. Unlike other hotels when you leave, the receptionist asks if we had a good stay or have a safe trip home or thank you for choosing the Hotel Ca' dei Conti, the reception staff instead made us feel uncomfortable as he had to unlock the door to let us out.

The beautiful city of Venice was everything and more than I expected. The beautiful sights and the gondola ride were breath taking. Venice made my birthday special but the stay at the Hotel Ca' dei Conti was such a disappointment from start to finish. I can honestly say that we will never return to this hotel and cannot recommend it to family and friends.

This is not a 4 -star hotel and the only plus is its location to all the points of interest and great restaurants.

Im sure the hotel is nice, if you're actually staying there when you arrive, We were transferred to another building down the street which was only staffed on a morning with no reception.
Our room was very nicely decorated however the mattress and pillows were low quality and there was hardly any storage space, it was one of the most impractical rooms I've ever stayed in. The single wardrobe had both the safe and minibar inside ! So limited space for anything else.
Be so careful if you are staying in either the hotel or the other building, as this hotel has rooms which are INCHES away from lifts, toilets and rooms that also open out into the restaurant. Breakfast starts at 7am so if you like a small lie in, then forget it.
The location of the hotel and the other building is great, walking distance to a vast array of sights and attractions.

We purchased a return ticket, open for 30 days at a cost of 27 Euros, the ticket office is in the Airport on the way to the Ferry Point, which is only a 10 minute walk. A lot cheaper than a water taxi. Sorry for the delay in responding was not on the PC yesterday.

We are able to organize a private transfer at the cost of € 150,00 per 2 persons in day tim. To organize it send us an email.

Hi, best way, if it is in your budget is by private water taxi (about 100 - 120 euro) which will drop you off about 100 metres from the hotel and its an easy walk or you can use the vaporetto (15-20 euro per person) and hop off at either S. Zaccaria (the closest) about a 15 minute walk or S Marco about a 15-20 minute walk but a bit more complicated. If you haven't been before throw away your maps and have fun getting lost. Staff at Ca dei Conti are great and breakfast is good. You can get a pass for the vaporetto, 1,2,3 day or longer but we have always found we haven't used it as much as we thought....take good walking shoes.....hope this helps
