We booked this hotel at Easter weekend. 2 nights for a bit over 400 Euro. The room accommodated 4 people. A double bed + 2 twins. Very old, not well maintained. Over priced. Staffs were friendly. Best thing was - location! Water bus station just beside the hotel.

Excellent value for money. You get what you pay for. Super clean room, ok breakfast, helpful reception staff. The location is super, especially when you travel with a toddler and you need everything (vaporetto included) in hand. I would definitely recommend.

We chose Ca' San Marcuola because its location looked pretty good, and indeed it is - just a few paces from a Grand Canal vaporetto stop. We had Room 202, which was vast and had a balcony overlooking a canal and an astounding Murano glass chandelier. It was a bit short on storage space and the bed took a little...

Gives tourism a bad name. Tiny, ugly, cramped room. Shower dribbles out tepid water. While the weather is only mild, the room is very warm. Actually, more than warm. More like an oven. Fortunately they advertise that they have AC. Unfortunately they don't actually turn on the AC. If you're so foolish as to crack open a window for a...

This is exactly what one might expect in Venice. Quaint older hotel. In a great location. Might be tough to find if you are directionally challenged, but that will actually become a major problem overall while in Venice. It is a maze. It is right beside the San Marcoula ferry station so that makes it easier to find and is...

We stayed at this Hotel last week, we had a basic room, as it was the only one available at the time of booking, was small, but spotlessly clean, a little off putting bars at the window but it was street level, otherwise the Hotel was fine, one complaint wifi and TV bad reception,

Located very close to the Grand Canal pier at San Marcuola, this little hotel was a very pleasant place to stay. The room was a decent size, and met all of our needs. We had a first floor, corner room, which did make it a little noisy on a Saturday night when the folks are all out celebrating, but it...

Comfortable and clean. Location is excellent. Right next to the vaporetto. Close to shops and restaurants. Breakfast is modest but good considering the price. Staff were very helpful. Would definitely stay there again.

Hotel is about 50 steps away from the San Marcuola vaparetto station (which itself is the 3rd stop from the main P. Rialle station.) Very simple hotel. Clean, Less than reliable wifi and poor TV channel choices

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
