Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Well, this is one hotel where we did our own check in upon arrival. We arrived at 3pm and when we knocked on the door, we were told by the mike fixed on the door to go up to the 2nd floor. So we went up and there, on the mirror, there was a white paper pasted with instructions as to how to open the door, how to order breakfast, etc. The so-called Reception was unmanned for most of the time.Funniest was when we wanted an adapter (and since there was no one at the desk), my husband was instructed over the phone by the owner to go to her Reception desk, open the second drawer, move the papers and on the left there is one. We laughed about it and felt at C/O, probably we will be instructed to go to the bank, punch our credit card PIN and pay it ourselves. - Anyways, Juliana(she

Casa Fenice is in a great location that make sit easy to walk to any part of the city. That's the good news. Now, here's more. First, I have to admit it. This was the budget part of our trip. But still, operating a bed and breakfast is not a complicated proposition. Bed. Breakfast. One of the things I really love about Italy is coffee. The aroma. The preparation. The attentiveness with which it is served. Breakfast: Casa Fenice serves your breakfast in your room. The keen anticipation with which I received the breakfast tray was matched only by the dreadfulness of the coffee. This was easily the worst cup of coffee I ever tasted in my long and undistinguished life. Plus, the breakfast. rolls that looked like croissants but had the consistency of packaged white

I booked this hotel through Venere.com and was told that they needed my credit card to hold the room, but that they would not charge it. Well, they charged it in full for two nights. I ended up cancelling the reservation well within the cancellation period and still have not gotten my money back. They insist that they must have my SS number and my bank routing number to refund me. Clearly, this will not be happening. Now the credit card company is involved. Ugh. Stay away from both Venere.com and Casa Fenice, because both have been uncooperative... even though it is their error!

Great small B&B located on a small back street centrally located in Venice. We arrived from the Marco Polo airport on the Alilaguna motor boat at the S. Angelo vaporetto stop and followed the directions on Casa Fenice's web site with no problem. Wonderful location within easy walking to Rialto and St Mark's. The pastries that were provided for breakfast were exactly what we wanted to start the day. There was a great little bar/club down the street that was great for a nitecap drink and entertainment. The room I had looked out on to the Calle della Mandola which had a little more activity than the dead end Rio Tra degli Assassini that is the Casa Fenice's address since Calle della Mandola has a bridge that went over the little canal. Well worth the money to stay right in

Amazing little B&B (not really a hotel, with just six rooms and a very informal atmosphere) in the heart of Venice, some 10-15 min walk from San Marco square. Very friendly service - Elisabeth and her team are just lovely hosts! Nicely decorated rooms, if a bit tired but anyway comfortable enough for a good stay. Basic breakfast (like everywhere else in Venice), but plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby! Well worth a visit, much better than big&soulless hotels, in my humble opinion

Small B & B in superb cul-de-sac location about 5-10 minutes walk from St. Mark's Square. Not cheap (£120 a night, but no accomodation in Venice is cheap). Friendly English-speaking owner Elizabetta. Individually designed en-suite bedroom with small double bed, wardobe, round table and three chairs. Restuarant right opposite and several nearby. A continental breakfast is served in your room on a tray. All in all a good nights stay.

We stayed here the last three nights of our honeymoon. The location is great - centrally located between the Rialto bridge and San Marco square. A bit tricky to get to (we took the waterbus) with bags, since its over a few bridges from the stop, but great once we were there. The hotel is very clean with a lovely staff. It was expensive for the quality of the rooms, but think we paid (fairly) for location. The hotel is a very traditional home-style lay out in Venice, with breakfast (pastries and coffee) served to your door each morning. I would definitely recommend for location. Accommodations are a bit behind the times, but still good!

Our Room had a ventian theme that grew on us as the days went by. Nice sized triple although the bathroom was a little cramped. Management was very helpful in accommodating all our needs and made the stay even more pleasureable. The bed's accross Europe tend to be a little more firm that home in North America so get used to it fast. Full grocery store 2 minutes away for water, pop and all the snacks you need. Amazing resturants just down the lane. Read the reviews and peek into the resturants before dining when travelling in the tourist areas.

Casa Alla Fenice is located down a tiny side street no more than 5 - 10 minutes stroll from all the major attractions of Venice. It is comfortable, very quiet, full of character and the staff were friendly, accommodating and helpful. The breakfasts, taken in the room, were good with a gluten free option available on request. A breakfast room would have been nice but, given the size of the property, one can see why that's not possible.
