We spent 4 nights in this lovely bed & breakfast. The cosy room is decorated very nicely with pretty details. Everything is clean and the comfortable bed makes you feel at home instantly. I loved the nice breakfast (croissants, joghurt, fruits, bread) they serve you every morning so that you can start the day with a nice breakfast in bed.... More

We stayed for two nights (6-8 May 2014). Communication by email before we arrived was exceptional and the directions we were given easy to follow (although we did get a bit lost when we got off the water taxi because we weren't used to the small Venice streets - could that lane really be the street to go up, oh... My girlfriend and I have just returned from an absolutely delightful trip to Venice and our stay at Corte Vecchia was very much part of the experience. Antonella was very helpful prior to arriving with excellent communication and her directions meant we had no problems finding the guesthouse, which was an easy 5 minute walk from the Zattere water bus... Stayed here for five nights last May. Loved the location in the quiet neighbourhood of Dorsoduro, where you're away from the noisy crowds. It's calm and feels very authentique, as opposite to touristy (in a good way). This doesn't mean Corte Vecchia is isolated or far from the main attractions in Venice, which can be reached by a pleasant walk... More

Venice is an enchanting city that can be occasionally maddening due to crowds and chaos. Corte Vecchia is a quiet respite from the madness and is in a nice neighborhood of good restaurants and cafes, shops and other services. It is only a 10 minute walk to the Accademia and the related vaporetto stop. It was terrific to have the... More

We have just enjoyed our 2nd stay at this delightful B and B. It is located in a quiet, pleasant area very close to Zattere where we like to stroll and catch the Vaporetto over to San Giorgio Maggiore and Giudecca, two of our favourite parts of Venice. The breakfast served on a trolley in your room is delicious, and... More

Had a great couple of days here. The location is ideal for most of venice's main sites; guggenheim and accademia galleries are especially close. Hosts were very friendly and helpful, recommending some brilliant restaurants. The help-yourself grappa in the lounge was a lovely touch!

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst visiting Venice. Having visited the city previously it was nice to stay in a less touristy area. Antonella was very helpful , providing us with good restaurant recommendations and booking a water taxi for our return trip to the airport. We stayed in the green room, which had a bathroom across the landing... More

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights while visiting Venice. We stayed in the red room which has a queen size bed and an ensuite bathroom. Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
