We just returned from three weeks in Europe. During the last eight nights we stayed at the wonderful Ca' Angeli in Venice. Ca' Angeli is a beautiful, comfortable, and well appointed small hotel furnished with lovely antiques. The staff is friendly, considerate, and attentive. Their attention to every detail makes Ca' Angeli a very special place to stay. Our lovely...

We loved this little gem of a hotel in Venice. The rooms are charming and the breakfast room is delightful. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The location is not right on St. Mark's square, but it is near the Rialto bridge, so it was easy to get around. My husband had real reservations about staying in such a...

This was our first trip to Venice and it will not be our last! What a lovely hotel. The rooms were absolutly spotless and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was more than we had hoped for. We cannot wait to visit Venice and this beautiful hotel again!

My mom and I stayed here for two nights in June, 2005. What a jewel of a hotel! The hotel felt like a little palace. Our room was clean and nicely appointed - the bathroom was very big for Europe! We loved the breakfast and adored the library area with its wonderful window seats that overlooked the main waterway. The...

Small secluded and special. Great intro to a city we will be back to. OK so not that easy to find if you are not used to Venice - and even though our water taxi dropped us off exactly at the right place and it was 10 m away we still got lost as the entrance is so under discreet....

My stay at Ca' Angeli was marvelous. The location is great, the staff and facilities are first rate and the general atmosphere exactly what I was looking for in Venice. To be able to sit in the window and watch the world go by on the Grand Canal is an experience I will never forget. Thanks to all for making...

Small, warm, comfortable--a great place to return to after exploring Venice. The staff could not have been kinder or more helpful. Thanks for a great stay!

We stayed at Ca' Angeli for one night this June (we had rented an apartment for the remainder of our stay in Venice) and were extremely pleased with both the facility and the service. Ca' Angeli is blessedly at some distance from the frenzy and noise of San Marco but is still very close to all the attractions by either...

Ca'Angeli was just the first stop on our tour, but I'd have been happy to linger on at the library window overlooking the Grand Canal indefinitely. We found our hosts most gracious, and their hotel a delight.

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
