My husband and I stayed at Ca' Maria Adele prior to taking a cruise from Venice. We looked at the hotel reviews and we are glad to stay there. We stayed at the Doge's room in the main building. The highlight was breakfast every morning on the sun deck with prosecco. We look forward to our return.

I travel a lot and I normally leave reviews but I think that Ca Maria Adele deserves it all!! I strongly believe this the best best place where to spend an incredible break during Christmas time! Magical, impeccable and outstanding. Can't wait to go back. Well done!

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying here in September. This is an unusual facility and not for everyone, but it is wonderful for a special clientele. The hotel is a small restored old Venetian palazzo, and the restoration is exquisite, though also quirky, with a fun spin to it. (For example, monkeys adorn the light fixture in...

A perfect example of an upmarket boutique hotel, the quality is totally luxurious. We had travelled down on the Orient Express, and after the transfer across the bay by Vaporetti, the Maria Adele simply continued the story.. The reception we received was excellent - we were led into a lounge, and given crystal glasses of Prosecco, with some nibbles while...

We arrived in Venice on the Orient Express and Ca Maria Adele completed a totally amazing short break. Quirky yes, but everything about the hotel is perfect. The decor is out of this world. Every bedroom has it's own theme and decor, and the reception you receive when you get there is fantastic. The owners and the staff really care...

From the minute we arrived by water taxi at the water door of this little palace we were treated like royalty. You are away from the bustle of St Marks square, yet a 5 minute vaporetto ride across the water. The quiet streets of Dorsoduro are a welcome respite and Ca Maria Adele is a perfect oasis. We had our...

We stayed at their Mini-Palace for two nights and I can't imagine finding a better place to stay in Venice. The location in the Dorsoduro directly across from the Santa Maria della Salute is perfect. Away from the touristy crowds on the other other side, but a close enough walk (or Vaporetto ride) to not feel so far removed if...

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
