Very cozy smallish hotel close to Sant' Angelo Vaporetto stop (i.e. good location). Easy to find. Safe, clean and silent area. Narrow staircase. Our party of eight had three rooms: one ground level suite and two double deluxe rooms at the reception floor. Venetian style decorated rooms were all well equipped, clean and functional. Decent views to the alley or...

4 of us stayed here for 2 nights in April. The apartment was conveniently located for all of the Venetian sights and good value. The accommodating was clean, if not a little damp feeling, being on the ground floor but as we did not spend here other than to sleep and wash, this was not really an issue. Check in...

Locanda Antico Fiore is a pretty boutique hotel situated in the heart of Venice around 5-10 minutes walk to Piazza San Marco and other amenities. The hotel is a lovely Venetian house with one side overlooking a canal. The rooms are comfortable and very clean with proper Venetian style furniture with an en-suite shower, television and kettle to make tea....

We liked the location. We stayed in the apartment a short walk from the hotel. Plenty of room for 4. Good location. AC worked well. As you will see in other reviews, tiny shower, but it works. We would stay here again.

Great location at Vaporetta Sant Angelo - one stop from the Rialto Bridge and 10 mins walk to San Marco. Lovely hotel. Beautiful en suite rooms with lovely tapestry wall coverings, three windows, venetian glass lamps and air conditioning and mini bar/fridge and safe. Comfortable large rooms, comfortable beds and good en suites with plenty of towels and soap/shampoo and...

Small hotel but cozy and nice. It is 100 meters from Santo Angelo vaporetto station and near Piazza San Marco so it is great. Since you will be walking most of the time, this is a good location to stay as it is kind of in the middle of everything. You should be aware that there are stairs to get...

We really enjoyed our stay! Very small and cozy hotel with really nice staff. Desiree even made self made plum bread for us! We really felt welcome all the time! And also a nice area which is quiet but still close to Rialto bridge and Sam Marco! Definitely go there!!

We are already thinking when to go back! Everything in the hotel was more than expected. Lovely city, atmosphere and the room gives you that welcoming feeling. The family was very helpful, giving in many valuable insights. We went for our anniversary and we were given a great welcome to make our day so special.

This was a chance find on booking.com. The hotel is easy to find, though you need to look hard to see the signs on the door! Get the map from the hotel website and you can't go wrong. The rooms are all very traditional shabby chic Venitian. Don't expect 'all mod cons', the place has charm and individuality, its' strength...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
