San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

We had a wonderful visit here for two nights. It's a perfect location - away from the big summer Venice crowds but a very convenient to the other parts of Venice, especially San Marco. It's well maintained, and it overlooks a small canal. This B&B is incredibly charming! And,

Sorry for the late response. Everything is within 20-30 minute walk in Venice and the city is absolutely safe at night, so I´d check on the restaurants list and make sure they do not carry only "special menu"´s on Christmas. Enjoy!

Hello, I'm sorry but the checkin is possible until 08:30pm. Anyway I will suggest you to spend the first night in a hotel near the Marco Polo airport because the city is far from the airport and if your flight will be on time, you will be reaching the city and the hotel or B&B not before 3am. Best regards Eleonora B&B A TEATRO Venice

You take the scheduled Water Taxi from the Airport (its a public service with regular departures and you take your baggage with you, no problem). The stop nearest the Guest House is S.Maria del Giglio, which is on the Orange Line. Cost around15 Euros. From this stop you walk (no steps nor bridges to cross) and the Guest House will be happy to provide further detail.
