This is just the kind of hotel I like! It's small and tucked away in a very narrow alleyway in an excellent location. Our room was very clean and very venetian in style, not big but quite adequate for our needs. The bed was way to hard for me but some people like it that way. A plus for the...

Room was small, with uncomfortable beds and looking into a dirty porch. When you open the window bags come in like crazy. They only give you one key and if you need to leave the room, you MUST lock in the person(s) you travel with. The hotel is hard to find and the little pathway that takes you to it...

You really didn't like anything about our place and our city... so sorry for it. The only thing we can't understand it's the "I don't care" answer you got when the air con was not working, this seems rather impossible since we are renowned for the kindness of our personnel. Anyway accept our apologies if you got this impression. Best...

We stayed at this hotel last week, finding it wasn't as difficult as people said, it is in a narrow alley but as we knew that we found it fairly easily. The room was basic but clean, the bathroom was great, we did state that I had slight mobility problems and our bathroom was really a wet room so great...

I traveled here with my mother and we both loved this place. The best part of it is the atmosphere it has - you really feel you are in Venice. Also location is very good - just a quick walk to Rialto bridge, few steps from some good restaurants. I would strongly recommend this place for a stay in Venice,...

This hotel is a good location tucked in behind the Rialto Mercato.....the instructions we received by email where easy to follow when lugging suitcases from the cruise ship to the people mover get a porter to transport cases over a rather steep bridge to the ferry number 1 opposite the railway station which took us to the Mercato stop. Had...

First impressions are great - a smiling friendly man at reception - and a good central location. That's about where the good bit stops. Beds are hard - pillows too. Air conditioning - well they forgot the conditioning - it was just air, and this issue not just in the one room. Due to us changing our plans we had...

We remember Fawlty Towers, for sure one of the most influential sit-com, not only for Great Britain... Being compared to that could sound almost as a honour, but of course in this case it is not. Therefore we apologize for any inconvenience, above all with the air con, while we can't understand what happened with our breakfast, usually it is...

We stayed here for a night and i was surprised that so many people gave this place great reviews. The hotel is tucked away in a back alley so it is confusing to find it. Check out is at 10 am, which is the first i have ever seen. Walls are so thin my wife thought the neighbors alarm clock...

Thank you for taking the time to review our Locanda. This review gives us the chance to underline and specify we are a small 'Locanda', i.e. a Venetian guest house with breakfast, we are not a big hotel, therefore the spaces and common areas are distributed as per our size. The location was great. It wasn't that hard for us to locate the hotel because we had a map. It gets easier once you have found it once. It is near Rialto Bridge and quite convenient to get around places. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was pretty standard. Good enough to start the day.

Spent two nights in this hotel during a stay in venice with my husband. Excellent location, very central and within a five minute walk to most attractions. Staff were friendly and helpful and able to give advice on transportation to airport. There was air-conditioning in our room which was a life saver during our stay as temperature hit 30 degrees....

Stayed here for 2 nights recently. Warm welcome from the owner who gave us a dinner recommendation and a map! About a 20 minute walk from Piazza San Marco and a 5 minute walk from the Rialto Bridge. Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
